They are just work prints, telecines, telesyncs or screeners. I can get them too as well as everybody else can also, for free. It is all illegal.
Most of these movies you cant get until it is released from the theatres for a lil bit of time. The ones you get right after the movie is released are usually cams, those are the boot legged looking ones, with the messed up sounds and the heads and people walking. The telesyncs are the next one up, as the sound is directly recorded from the audio inputs, so you dont get clapping and laughing, and the video is usually recorded on a high quality camera but you can still get heads or people walking. It is usually cropped a lot, this is where they cutt off the sides or top of the film to remove the heads.
Workprints, you can sometimes get before the movie is released.(but suck in quality) Then there are screeners which are alot better quality, sometimes, but the best ones are the dvd screeners which are almost dvd quality. Telecines are very good too, but are usually dark, these are recorded from the reels of the films. Also movies that have been released in foreign theatres way before they were released in the US, such as Hero.

If you have to buy bootleg, Buy only the screeners or telecines. Make sure you ask, and do not buy vcds (which are cheap and only play on certain dvd players), buy only dvd r.
My recommendations is do not buy these at all, because it is illegal. It is a federal offense. It is just like selling "stuff" online in the forum post (which is not allowed), and then advertising to sell illegal stuff (you know what I mean). The supplier gets busted, and guess where all the computer records go to.
I watch my movies at the theatres during the matinee, where it is cheaper, and no one there, and I get to watch it on the big screen. After I watch a movie once, it loses its appeal to watch it again, so many movies are a waste to have. There are ofcourse some movies I like to watch over and over again, but I prefer those on dvds, where the quality is superb.
Armageddon, you might flame me now because I am wrecking havoc on your bootleg business, but I am doing you a big favor. Federal agents roam these boards all the time, they can see your post. They can buy your movies. Then they can put you in jail and confiscate your computer and many other things. They can get a list of all your buyers from these boards. And they can watch them closely which many of them do not want them to be watched. I am sorry, but you are bringing heat on yourself and the brothers and sisters on professional muscle.
