MY 55 YR OLD FATHER

so my dad is 55, turning 56 soon, and the guy is completely ripped. hasn't lifted since he wrestled in high school and he hardly eats at all. the only workout he does other than working construction is 2 sets of 100 pushups every morning. his diet usually goes something like this...an english muffin for breakfast, two pieces of fruit for lunch, a large dinner of whatever my mom makes, and then ice cream with potato chips at night. weighs about 170 pounds solid with better abs than me. i would guess less than 10 %bf... just another example of genetics i guess, but i hope i look as good as him at that age...while he's watching tv working his way through a bag of chips i will be at the gym lol. god bless

I'm the total opposites with my parents. moms 5'3, dads 5'4, and i'm 6 ft tall! i guess thats pretty tall for an asian. oh yea i was forced to take those flintstones vitamins everyday when i was little, lol.
 
It's called great genetics :) Probably could have been one hell of a bodybuilder. You should try to get him to the gym...Tell him to just give it a shot, that it would mean a lot to you...You never know, it might awaken something in him and he can have new hobby that he really enjoys, is good for him, something the two of you can share and have good memories of.
 
I'm backwards, I'm 46, right now about 15% BF, but if I look at a bag of potato chips my BF goes to 16%,LOL.
 
lol damn bro. i wish my indian ass would be like that.

Careful man,

My father was very much like that (I wish I had more of his genetics), even kept his 6 pack into his early 40s. He loves icecream and began eating a ton of it daily, because he never believed he would get fat. At 61, hes slightly overweight (not bad though), but has developed type II diabetes from consuming all that sugar over the years. He also has neuropathy in his extremeties from poor blood flow and excessive blood sugar. I wish he would have worked out some, but never saw the need because he was always ripped.

Clean diet, preventative care, and moderate exercise are something that could really help him stay healthy!
