Need ideas for a tatoo (my first)

I know many of you have hours of ink done and I am searching for something very unique...I want something that reminds me of friends and family. But I'm open to anything... Without getting into to much detail, I am going through some tough times right now and just want something that I can look at each day and it reminds me to get back on the right track in life. It will be located on my left forearm (on the under side)....Again, I'm open to anything, so if any of you guys could help I'd appreciate it.... Thanks in advance

Hmm not a tattoo Guy Myself, but would recomend getting it someplace you can hide. SOme jobs, people ect might judge you for having a tatoo someplace that will be hard to hide, Ie you can wear short sleeves etc...

My .02cents buy some more juice and gh instead.

a tat.... i am a big christian, and i am planning on getting something along the lines of a thorn wrap on my ankle.. then was thinking of gettting "his pain" on my left calf, and then "your gain" on my right calf..

so, not sure.. but still, be thinking about your future.. forearms are not the best place to get them.. my sisters fiance has a bunch on his arms, and he cant get a job past 14 / hour , and he tells me all the time that he wishes he would have waited... oh well....

make sure its what you want, whatever you want.. do something with some meaning.. true meaning.. my future tats mean a bunch to me...

I agree totally. I have several tats and love each one of them. All of them I thought about before I made the final decision. I can tell you one thing that I did want one on my forearm and almost got it there but never did I, thank God. All of mine are covered which is fortunate because I am in business and people judge all the time. Bad enough I am a big guy with earings, they dont need to see my tats as well.

I have tats. My advice, go slow. I decided what I wanted then waited a year before I did it. If you still like the deisgn after an extended time, its a keeper. Do something that is meaningful and says something unique about you. Never do the clip art stuff.

Some of you guys crack me up, that picture of Phil would fit perfect on my forearm, him being such a small guy and all...

I do like the idea of a bible verse, I have a few that I really like...
I hear what many of you are saying about not putting it where people can see, but that is the purpose for me getting one, I want to see it in plain site everyday so it serves as a reminder! I have never been one to care what others think, although I understand people do judge, especially in the business world. I'd like to hear more from those with tats in places like that and what sort of problems arise if any.....

You should try and see if you can blend Gain and PAIN together so when you turn your arm or leg up, it says one of the other....

EX: Method MAn(I think) has Life and then turn is forearm over and it says DEATH pretty sweet tatt

Im a fan of writing in ancient languages like latin or sanskrit. Having a short verse like the judgement one posted would be cool; buddhist sutras in sanskrit are cool too but thats just me thinking outloud.

One of the coolest tats that I liked was actually from the movie Boondock Saints where the brothers had Veritas and Aequitas respectively written between their thumb and index fingers. Fucking sweet.

You may like the daily reminder of it being under the forearm but it might impede progress at some point. I'd have it above the elbow. Nothing like an idiot having control over a decision about you and he/she dislikes tattoos. Play it safe. For a family and friends tattoo I'd go with a Celtic design of sorts. They're Earthy and make a statement. Your statement of looking at it for a reminder sounds like you'd respect the power of a design hundreds of yrs old. I'd put my last name somewhere if I were you. Remind yourself you are you, too. Not everybody takes friends and family as serious as you do. Stay tough.

just don't get kanji unless it is from a chinese or japanese artist (and not just some asian looking tattoo artist, some one who actually knows the art of writing kanji
slightly off subject....I was in the mall in the states and saw this fat guy wearing a ballcap with some kanji on it....I am quite sure he had no idea what it meant, or maybe someone lied to him....but the character meant "Pig"
I have my kids names on me. they are my life. they will always be my kids till i die. I know I made the right decision.

Oh, and please do not put it someplace that can't be hidden. regardless!
if I wear a simple t-shirt, you cannot see mine. if I am wearing a tank, then you can see 2 of them.
