Hello all I am new to the board here. But I have been around for awhile and I am very well known on the old SSB I was VIP/Vet. I had a different name than this 1. So if you were there and want to no ask me in pm. But anyway my last hard work out was 8 months ago, when everything went south for a while. My question is what should I do right now to drop 30lbs or so before my next round. I am doing 15mins jogging on tread mill then 15-20mins on elliptical. 6 days a wk. I am eating egg whites every morning. or oatmeal with a pc of cheese. Then lunch is a Shake and Subway roast chicken or tuna sub. Dinner is vegi's Chicken,Steak,Tuna, And Baked potato. this is pretty much everyday same right now. Been back in the gym for about 7 days.. Any good trainers close to me? Indiana thanks..

Weight: 291
BF%: Guessing 20% or a little more.
Goal: 15% bf and stay around there.

I lift just for myself. My goals are to someday bench 500 best to date is 465 about a year ago. I have taken about 6 cycles or so. And getting ready for next now. If I have for gotten anything or you need to no more just ask me. Thanks:D
 
And I forgot to mention I only drink water everyday about 1 1/2 gallons a day..

Are u lifting any weights?? You only mentioned 30-45 minutes of cardio...

Lifting is extremely important.. Especially when trying to drop bodyfat.. More muscle means more calories burned sitting around on ur ass.. I would do your cardio in the AM on an empty stomach.. Then wieghts later on in the day... Your diet could use some adjustment too.. Make sure you are getting 1 gram of protein per lb of bodyweight.. I know nothing about you so i cannot tell you how many carbs or healthy fats you should be eating... I see you wanna drop 30lbs but wanna bench 500... Its possible to do.. But i think you need to have protein with every meal. I would stick to 300 grams of carbohydrates (oatmeal, sweet potato, brown rice, etc.) Cut carbs off after your PWO shake.. Then protein and healthy fats for the rest of the day/night... See how ur body responds.. Then adjust carb and fat intake appropriately... If you plan on using AAS.. Then you are gonna have to bump up your protein intake to around 2 grams per lb of bodyweight...

This is great advice. Some more to think about. When your body processes and assimilates protein it using considerably more energy to do this than other macronutrients (carbs especially). This is called the 'thermic effect'. You burn extra calories just by eating and digesting protein. Increase your protein intake, it will rev up metabolism and help to build muscle. Happy 4th.

What happen is when all the old BS went on i got scared and wiped my cp and everything and stop going to the gym cold turkey and just worked and sat in front of the tv eating. I was 275lbs @ about 13% before this all happen. But you no the how that goes.. after i lose about 15 more lbs i plan on doing this..

Dunno about trainers, but in Kokomo, Indiana, theres a Powerhouse Gym owned by Chad Coy. Lot of strongman/PLer there. Its a very hardcore place if youre looking for a good environment.
 
First thing I would do is lose the subway bro and make your own stuff. It is crap and will not help you lose weight. The others have given you good advice here. prepare your own food and you will be greatly rewarded with results. At least this way you know exactly what is going in, no surprises!!

Seems to me that cycle is a bad idea at 275 lbs (15lbs off 290) and having been away from the gym for 8 months. You need not only to drop BF but to build muscle as well before you cycle.

Why not give it six solid months in the gym lifting and getting back close to where you were before? I understand wanting to jump start things and get back to where you were before but with (IMO) too high BF and no muscle base to build on that cycle will bloat you like a beached whale, subject you to possible gyno, and at the end, post cycle, you wont be happy with the results and you wont keep as much muscle/size as you hoped.

In the next 6 months get in the gym and move some iron, and dail your diet in. Then cycle Jan 09.

I haven't lost that much.. My arms are still around 19in's I threw up 315 np. where I was before is just getting off a cycle. Only thing I really noticed is my traps seem they have gotten smaller and my triceps. And my stomach got bigger : ) I have been in the 270's for almost 10 years. I am just asking what you all think is all. I'm not weak by any means. But not where I want to be either. And this is just my thinking but when I am on a cycle I work that much harder and seem to lose more weight from it? Is that just me or?? Thank you all for your info and I am gonna try to bust my a$$ and get there.. And I will cut subway out of it.
 
One more thing...

When your goal is to lose bodyfat, it is very helpful to cut carbs at some point during the day. It depends on your body type when to do this but it helps a great deal. I am very ectomorphic so I only cut carbs out of my last meal before bed (usually around 9pm during the week). I will eat only protein/fat/veggies at this time. Something like a steak with broccoli or chicken breast, some almonds/pecans (for fat) and some raw spinach salad. If you are more endomorphic, it may be a good idea to cut them earlier in the day. So cut carbs after your second or third meal. This has reaaly helped me to stay lean while increasing my bodyweight at the same time. Like I said though it's purely individual so you may have to play around with it a little before you find what works best. Take care bro.

That really sounds great.. Ya I am not really sure on how my body works on a good diet as every time I have trained in the past 8 years I just try to eat what I think is Ok to eat with a few protein shakes mixed in and some protein bars. But I have honestly never really tried to stick to a great diet which I should. But I do no it costs a lot more to eat healthy than it does to eat whatever. If you guys can give me some advice on what to eat everyday that's not gonna cost me 3 arms and to legs I will stick to it and see how it goes. I used to eat as much as I could and lifted as much as I could really. I like all food really. My job is what messes me up I get off work about 3-4am and sleep until noon by the time I get home.. So my first meal is 12:30 or so then a shack about 2pm lunch about 3pm protein bar or shake 5pm dinner about 7:30pm then i go tot the gym about 8:30-9pm Thanks

No, you're still pretty far, I train at Quads Gym in Calumet City. Ed Coan Trains there, it's a pretty hardcore gym, it's about 40% powerlifter 40% bodybuilder, 20% casual lifter.

My older brother has been going there since it was in Thornridge about 20 years ago.

I like it because it's usually pretty empty, depending on the time of day.

Ya my gym is the old Gold's Power House. The owner got a divorce and got a bigger building and a different name so now its Classic Body Works In Portage. Its a really big gym and i go late at night because its very full during the day. I do mix in some cardio sometimes during the day but the real work out happens at night.:D
