New Years Eve party -Tragic ending

Ms KH and I have some close friends who are owner/operators of a beautiful and very successful restaurant here locally. They invited us to join them for a New Year's celebration and masquarade party. Here's a pick of the restaurant from the patio-side. Beautiful!

We were very excited and went all out. We went to the local costume shop and bought masks and I rented a tux with tails. we snapped a couple pics beforre leaving the house. here is Ms KH

The place was packed and we had a great time. Here is Ms KH with the host

we had a large table in the main dining area. It's nice to sit with the owner as service is really good. Food was 5 courses and outstanding.

Finally all 4 of us together after a few cocktails.

So we had a great time. We went home and they left for McCall Idaho to spend the weekend skiing at Brundage. The newyear seemed to be off to a great start.
However early Saturday morning there was a fire!

we are heart-broken. Here is the patio now...

On a brighter note. We recieved a message last night from our friends. It included the picture of the 4 of us from above and said:

Good Times..... Next year... Same time.... Same Place?

reconstruction has already begun.
The building was completely gutted, a totally loss. The fire inspector called it accidental and the speicific cause undetermined due to the extreme heat/damage. Fortuanately no one was hurt and about half of the 161 employees have found jobs in other restaurants due to the efforts of the owner and his wife. There is a fund-raiser coming up in a week to raise money for the employees who are still out of work.
There will be a Hppy Ending to this story.
I will post somepics from the grand re-opening in November...
