O/T Anyone have their car shipped

Need to ship an accord from Ca to the midwest. I've gotten about 100 quotes from auto shippers ranging from $850-$1200. How fucking insane is that bullshit. Thats like 1/9th of what the cars worth. F'ing greedy scum. Anyway, they all seem to say they have insurance and gaurantee pickup, but then some places say "places dont always pick your car up,etc.." anyone know a good place they have used? Thanks guys.

I was going to have my 03 Viper shipped from Orlando and it was going to be 750 shipped and they said it would be picked up in 2 to 3 days but it never happened, 3 weeks went by with the same crap so I just booked a flight and drove it 1100 miles back... I have an uncle that lives in Florida so I made a little mini vacation out of it! Go to autotransport411.com and put all your info in and you will get about 10 to 15 different places send you a quote.

Hmmmm did you have a contract with them, b/c if so, you should have been able to sue them harshly.

No its my only car and im moving out there. I looked into renting a truck and towing it but thats almost 2grand when you add gas. Looks like my best bet is just driving it there(1800mi drive) and hope for the best. Its a 2000 accord with 110,000 miles, never had a problem yet, just had tranny serviced, regular oil changes,etc.. im thinking to play it safe have a gas can full in the trunk and a few gallons of water in case the radiator goes. And a spare tire and jack of course.

I ended up paying $750 b4 gas prices went thru the roof. Most ads are all brokers who post the jobs on screens the truckers see at truck stops or online. Unless its a popular route, major city to major city, its hard to get a deal. Also during the summer hail storms are a distinct possibility and covered carriers are more expensive.

Yea, I had a contract with 150 down that they required but they refunded me or so thay said, I haven't got the cc card statement yet to see if they did...by flying down there and driving it back I saved about 200 bucks though.

Hey fourthgen,

DAS auto shipper works great. Get insurance. I know its $100 or so extra, but what if your car falls off the truck? You are 100% covered. They are great.

do not use AAAlogistics broker the jerked me told me 90 then added 250 at the last minute after the contract stating gas prices and said if i had a prolem its tuff they have my car and will not release it my attorney is working on it i'll give those broke mofo the 250 but a contract is a contract reporting them to the bbb as we speak there in ny they are a broker do not use pioneer shippers either

Seems like most these places are scam artists. I emailed many of them saying if they can put a gaurante in their contract on the day and if they dont show they have to not only pay my deposit back but also reinburse me similar costs when I have to go through a fellow competitor. They never emailed back lol fucking scam scum.

LOL, I did have a gf at the time but that went all to hell for the 4th time 3 weeks after I got the Viper but that wasn't the cause... I don't think I'll have a problem gettin another woman, shes already seen me out in the Viper with another hot girl and she wasn't too happy!
