Old school machines- tampa powerhouse gym

Yeah I don’t think of Hammer Strength as old but then again I’m old lol. But have always really liked the plate loaded HS stuff
I don't think of them as old either. Were they around before the late 90s? Regardless, by far, plate loaded HS are my favorite machines. If I can't go free weight for whatever reason, HS is my go to.

There was no ‘circuit’.

Every workout was different. A mixture of different exercise modes.

Sorry I guess I meant that you can perform every workout of the Colorado Experiment. They’ve put a few people through the full four weeks.

They may have gotten them from Ell Darden, who still has a copy of every session. But I’m not sure. If I go, I’ll make sure to ask

I have all the workouts written by Arthur as he was training They are the originals. The workouts are impossible to duplicate unless you have the exact machines (which many were one of kind, never in production) the exact exercise mode (you need the ‘legend’) snd the order of execution.

Love the old school machines one of my gyms has quite a bit. This is my favorite they have an old rusty version but feels great on rear delts. Essentially a reverse pec deck where your not holding anything just resting your firearms on the pad and doing a reverse fly

That before and after is still just absolutely freaky haha kind of reminds me of the Levrone before and after from off-season to the stage
 
At the end of the day you can’t beat bb squats.

Notice a full squat, no squat rack in sight, no belt, tennis shoes, and 19 years old.

Sometimes due to injury you r limited so machines are good but if there is a movement you can do with free weights then it’s the best. Machines r good to top off… kinda like icing on the cake but the cake needs to be built with the free weight batter.

The realization I had. Nothing is as good as free weights if you can do them. Sometimes due to injury you r limited so machines are good but if there is a movement you can do with free weights then it’s the best. Machines r good to top off… kinda like icing on the cake but the cake needs to be built with the free weight batter.

completely disagree here but its good not everyone is the same opinion.. life would be boring then
good machines shit on free weights in all aspects in my opinion: safety, effectiveness, stability etc.
 
Could you write more about this Colorado experiment? What was it really about, after all, it is impossible to gain so much muscle in 4 weeks?
It was about REbuilding muscle working out 3x per week, ~30 minute, a mixture of standard sets, machines, bb’s, negative accentuated. There is a sample of a workout here somewhere. Links to the ‘experiment’ are all over the net.
