I thought this was pretty awesome - from top national heavyweight Faramarz Aghazadeh's biography on his website:
He immigrated to the United States in 1992 and entered and won his first competition in 1995. Even though he was qualified for Nationals, he had to wait seven years for citizenship before proceeding to the next level. Since 2002, he has placed in the top six at Nationals and top 2 at USA.
That's a display of patience I think we could all learn from!
