Peptides and injury prevention

I've torn my pec tendon twice in the past. What is the most cost effective peptide to use to strengthen connective tissue to prevent injury (before it actually happens)?

I read where a few people had good experiences with ghrp6 to heal tendon injuries. I was thinking something like 100 mcg shot twice a day. Is that a good protocol for my goal? What do you guys suggest?

Thanks.

I would have to think that straight GH would be your best bet. That and allowing your body to heal. Tendons aren't very adept at healing. Fibroblasts (the connective tissue cells capable of replication) are not abundant in adults. The GH should act to make the most of what is there.

I can't stress enough the need to allow your body to heal. Tendons are slow healers even in ideal conditions. Many, many times people will think they are healed from a connective tissue injury, then go back to the activity that injured the CT in the first place and re-injure it. The problem was that it wasn't really fully healed. I have a friend who has had 4 shoulder surgeries because he keeps going back and re-injuring the same shoulder by going back to lifting too soon.

Bro- A couple years ago I had bilateral total pectoralis major tendon rutptures. They both completely tore off and rolled up in my chest. Black and blue from neck to wrist. I had to have surgery, obviously to reattach both sides. Started using igf after initial recovery period, when I started back at the gym. Very painful recovery anmd SCARY to do flat press, because I'll never forget that snapping sound when I tore em. Anyway, my point:
Based on what we knew back then, I did 25-40 mcg EOD into the area of injury. I know that this sped up my recovery, I was back to pressing plates in no time. Current research (mostlky from Dat)anectodetdly tells us that micro-dosing the igf in many shots in as many areas as possible in the area of injury will help speed recovery/healing. Do a search on it, learn about the peptide and formulate a plan. Good Luck

BTW, dont get me wrong, strength is back, but symmetry will be phucked for life...indentations on both upper pecs.

I had a full thinkness tear of my rotator cuff 8 weeks ago. I started taking 4iu a day of gh 4 weeks ago and my physical therapist is amazed at how fast I'm healing.

Just started some IGF this week. We'll see.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

The last time I tore it, I did 5 iu/day of gh and it was back to normal in a month. GH is definitely good, I just wondered if there was anything I could use that would be lighter on the wallet but still effective. I spend about a grand a month on food, so anywhere I can save money helps.

I read about the igf microdosing. Do you guys think that would also work to prevent injuries? Like I could shoot igf in the pecs, small doses a few times a day, to help keep the tendons strong.

I know recovery from workouts is number one. I've been training for 14 years so I have a decent handle on listening to my body. Just wondering if there's anything I can take to help me be able to train heavy for long periods of time while minimizing chance of injury. Thanks everyone.

YIKES! Stuff like this kinda makes me glad I'm not really that strong. I'm not in any real danger of pushing my tendons to their limits because I just can't do enough weight for it to be an issue.

It's really the big limiting factor for me as far as being able to get to the next level of development. I can put on tons of muscle if I can remain healthy enough to train heavy.

That's too bad, bro. I suppose I'm lucky in that my growth has been more "dose dependent" than "weight dependent". But, I'm not huge at all. I'm tall and I can hold a lot more muscle...but I am also 42 and quality of life means more than being thick to me, now. But, that's just me. A lot of guy keep getting bigger when they hit their forties. That's cool, too. I've been heavy, but it just wasn't for me.

I wish there was something that I could tell you that would help. The GH should help if you stay on all the time. And some people like the nandrolones for it anabolic properties...but that shit shuts me down so hard I have no sex drive for 2 months after I come off, regardless of what I take to combat it.

Stay healthy.

Took the words outta my mouth!

I did read a pretty good article on this forum about tendons. It suggests a higher ratio of deca or EQ to test. Something like 600eq and 200test a week for helping strengthen tendons.

It's in the "articles" section. You should read it.

Thanks I'll check that out.

I was actually wondering if throwing in some eq would make a difference. I'd always heard about deca/eq for collagen, but I don't know if they increase collagen synthesis enough for it to really help.

Tread carefully bro. Some anabolics are associated with increased risk of tendon injuries, and boldenone IS one of them...Research up, you don't want to make your tendons weaker.

That's weird, i've never heard of boldenone being associated with tendon injuries. I have read this regarding winny but not EQ. What is the reason for this? Do you have any studies or info to link to?

AAS use, equipoise included, causes a very rapid increase in muscle strength absent anymajor increases in tendon and ligament strength, increasing the likelyhood of rupture. There have been studies that also indicate that aas stiffens tendons and makes them less flexible. Heres an excerpt of a study I pulled real quick: Reconstruction of the Pectoralis Major Tendon with Fascia Lata Allograft

By Robby S. Sikka; Mark Neault, MD; Carlos A. Guanche, MD
ORTHOPEDICS 2005; 28:1199

Additionally, the use of anabolic steroids with vigorous training increases muscle strength disproportionately to the strength of the tendon, making the tendon more susceptible to injury. Biochemical and biomechanical analysis showed that anabolic steroids produce a stiffer tendon that absorbs less energy and is more likely to fail.17 This is especially important to consider in body builders and those participating in heavy weight training

Also check, Inhofe PD, Grana WA, Egle D, Min KW, Tomasek J. The effects of anabolic steroids on rat tendon. an ultrastructural, biomechanical, and biochemical analysis. Am J Sports Med. 1995; 23:227–232.
