today I feel alternative.
I cook fish

yes I know, my dishes are visually disgusting.
but I don't eat with my eyes, I do it with my mouth.
and I don't do it so much for the flavor (although I have to admit that it is an excellent added value) but I do it above all for what the food gives me.
food is my fuel, and my plates have everything I need.

Love these food posts. But it also has me thinking. How blessed we are in modern society to have all these food choices available to us in demand. I was watching a you tube video on breakfast in old Europe.
Nothing fancy. Just oatmeal, bread, cheese and beer. Of course all heavy calorie dishes to last one throughiut the day.

surely times have changed a lot and a lot more will change.
We have much more choice, due to globalization.
We have much more knowledge, due to the information shared and available at no cost and time via the internet.

Just think, my grandmother (now deceased) spent two world wars in a small remote village.
To get by, she told me when I was a child, she and the family also ate mice.

These are truths and they are still current in certain parts of the planet.

We are lucky, you can say it loud, and we don't even realize it

600 gr basmati rice with 3.5 liters of water and 3 carrots, so there are about 4 kg of stuff in the pot.
500 g of cooked egg white
"pancake" with 500 g of egg white + 100 g of rice cream

more than 3000 kcal
