Polyethylene Glycol 300 question

Quick question. I've been searching high and low and can't find a real solid answer. What's the difference between PEG 300/400/600. I know PEG 300 is used to help suspensions, same for the others? I'm feeling pretty lost on this one, any help would be greatly appreciated!

The PEG number is what the molecular weight is that a substance will suspend.
If you look about on the net you'll find the molecular weight of different powders that you use. ALthough for the majority of common powders used PEG 400 does the job

so PEG 400 will suspend molecules smaller than 400g/mol? is this at a certain amount of liquid? So 1g of molecule X with molecular weight 400g/mol will suspend in 1ml of PEG 400?

seems like such a simple answer, and it was a hell of a pain to get it, lol! Thank you sir!
