Pro Bodybuilders and the California Lifestyle

An IFBB pro bodybuilder recently moved to the town I live in an opened up a gym. He's a great guy and I love having him here, but I'm concerned that he can't seem to let go of the carefree California lifestyle he is accustomed to living. Things are different here in upstate New York. Winter will be here soon -- the days will be short and there won't be much sunshine. I don't know if this guy will be able to make it with his laidback California attitude. What can I do to get this point across to him? Is living the California lifestyle just part of being a pro bodybuilder?

I would like to offer some suggestions but I don't understand what you mean when you say you're concerned. You'll prolly get more responses if you explain what it is that he's doing that has you so concerned.

I had a friend from Rio de Janeiro stay with me years ago and all he wanted to do was BBQ , drink and hang out. For months he was living la vida loca, but when his cash ran out he was living la vida broca. I guess it was something he had to experience himself before he changed his lifstyle. He's doing fine now, but no matter how many times I told him he needed to adjust to living in the US he wouldn't listen. He learned the hard way which is the only way some people learn.
