As a Medicare provider there is a website that I log into several times a week to check claims status so I can know what is getting paid each week ahead of time. About 10 days ago I started getting the following error message every time I tried to load the website;

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.

So, I figured the website was down. After a few days of the problem I thought maybe it was my computer and not the website so I tried to access the site from my cell phone(Droid) and got the same message. So the next day I called Medicare to find out when the site would be back up. They stated that the website was working fine and they had not received any complaints or heard of any problems. So I tried my wifes laptop(which is connected to the same Linksys router as my computer) and still got the same error message. So yesterday my wife brought home her laptop from work with a Sprint wireless card and I tried to load the website and it loads no problem. So next I tried turning off my firewall to see if that made a difference; but nope, still can only load the website from my wife's work computer.

I am not real computer literate so I would appreciate any input on why I can't load this website unless I use my wife's work computer; especially considering that I have been using the website for several months without any problems prior and have not done any updates to my computer.

Not sure if it matters but the website address is:

**broken link removed**

It sounds like a problem with the router. What type of internet connection do you have cable or dsl?
Have you tried resetting your router or power cycling your modem (unplugging your powercord for 5-10 minutes)?

For the router factory reset should fix the problem but make sure you have it reconfigured to be secure again.

Also try clearing out your browser cache and dns.

Go to run type in:
cmd

When the command window opens up type:

ipconfig /flushdns

Give them a try and let me know.

Was your Droid tied into your wireless router or was it using it's own internet access? If it was using your router, then it could possibly be your firmware or the router needs to be reset. If not, then it is not a common denominator and it sounds like you may have some sort of URL problem. Sounds like maybe the company changed their DNS name on the net, and your wife's company may not have updated their DNS cache on their DNS servers. Can you confirm the URL with tech support for the company? In other words, if the domain name was abc.com, and they changed it to 123.com, you may not able to get to it from an ISP that updated their DNS resolution, whereas, Sprint may be a little slower. You can double check, by snipping off the http:// or https:// and putting in the domain name up to the first "/" at nwtools.com, and doing a DNS lookup. In other words if it is **broken link removed**, just use "abc.com" to try a lookup. This will isolate any ISP issues, and get right to the root of the problem, unbiased.

A result for ABC.COM looks like this:

If it does revolve and give you an address, try to substitute the IP address for the domain name on the comper it will not open up correctly on, like:

Not sure I understand, I pulled up the DNS record and get:

Retrieving DNS records for endeavor.noridianmedicare.com...

DNS servers
ns.noridian.com
ns2.noridian.com

Answer records
endeavor.noridianmedicare.com A 199.253.130.41 3600s

Authority records
noridianmedicare.com NS ns2.noridian.com 3600s
noridianmedicare.com NS ns.noridian.com 3600s

Additional records

I then use internet explorer to goto **broken link removed** and it was not able to load the page. Is that what you wanted me to do and what does it mean?

By the way, the home internet is through Cox Communciations(cable) and we have the premium package with the highest speed. The cell phone is through Verizon wireless and is completely separate from the router and home network.

YEEEEHAWWWWWWW!! Just reset the modem and router and we are good to go, thanks guys for the help; you don't know how much of a stress relief this is. I had a patient whose claims were denied this week because she got tricked into switching insurance plans unknowingly. Normally I would have been able to catch this stuff ahead of time before the carnage piles up. I hate feeling disorganized and reactive instead of proactive.
