question about "genetic potential"

Hey guys.

Do you believe that there is a point where you just cant put on more muscle naturally?


I am 5'7 and 183 and have been for the past 2 years. I eat 8 meals a day and my training is heavy. I have some bodyfat on my stomach but minimal amounts on the rest of my body. I do have a hard time with my appetite but I still eat around 3000 calories a day at the least and 5000 when I am really focused.

your input will be so much appreciated.

also, any advice on appetite?
 
Genetic limits do exist for natural lifters but I doubt you're there yet. Eat 5000cals a day for 6-8 months and see what happens.

Chances are he will put on a spare tire. Anyhow, thats what happend to me!

Oddly my weight is close to the "model potential" but my oddly big legs leave me with lots of room for upper body growth in the same model.
I guess I'm deformed.

hmmm 145 lbs? I guess I am a fatty? Nah. I truely do think that 180-185 is my limit...I have been stuck here for literally years...and cant seem to break through this. I put on a few pounds but I swear my gut just got bigger. I think I could def. trim up a bit but I am talking about bulking. I think this might be it for me. I really wanted to get to 200. How can it be that I gained 40 lbs in one year when I started workinh out and eating right and now I cant even gain a few?
 
How old are you and how long have you been lifting?
 
a wise man once said that genetics determine the shape of muscles, not the size.
 
I'd hate to encourage you to take gear, but... I was natural for 8 years. HGH is my current best friend! :D
 
hey there. I am 26 and I have lifting for 6 years but only seriously for the past three. I have also been athletic all my life (soccer mostly)

If you eat more calories, you should start to grow with proper training and rest. Do research on healthy fats, and G index carbs. If your at 3000 cals. go to 4000, if that doesn't work go up 250 every couple of weeks, until you start growing or get fat. (consuming only nutrient dense foods) This is very basic info, though. Use the search button, to learn more. Or hire a trainer from this board to help you out. (most guys are very reasonable) It's up to you, it amount to how bad you want it.
