Guys:
I have just started training again after 8 months off and I have a few questions about "Muscle memory".
1. If muscles have memory is it also possible muscles can contract "Alzheimers"? That appears to be the case with mine.
2. Is muscle memory related to how "bright" the muscles were to begin with? Mine seem to have been riding the "short bus".
I am giving these so-called "muscles" a couple more weeks to start responding b4 I take action. If I can find a ready source of lactid acid I am thinking about injecting them all with an overdose just to show them that if they can do it to me, I can do it to them.
It really is suprising how far I have fallen, it is almost laughable. All of my muslces fail so quickly now. There is no time between "That was tough, maybe two or three more reps" feeling, and "Screw you, I'm shutting down fat boy!". I used to get that feeling on a few exercises, close grip bench for tri's being one, but now I fail immediately on every exercise.
I had one lady come up to me and she reminded me that I had told her once that I missed the days of being able to get every muscle sore, so enjoy!
It will be easier this week I hope. I literally get interrupted on every exercise by people wishing me well, welcoming me back. I guess I went to that gym 5 days a week for six years or so and got to know more people than I realized.
Amazing thing is, after just two weeks, I already feel better, as I now can at least feel where my muscles are underneath my protective layer of fat.
