Ok, this sort of confused me about the label on certain things that may contain carbs. On the back where it saids "Ntrition Facts" which is the right about of carbs? I'll show what I mean..sort of hard to explain lol

Nutrition Facts
Serving Size 1/2 cup (54g) <---is that the correct amount of carbs or what?
(about 1 cup cooked)
Serving Per container about 7

Calories 190
Total Fat 1.5
Total Carbohydrate 42g

ok my question is which is the actually amount of carbs in it? Is it 54 or is it 42?

well

Its the number after carbs..42
Then minus the sugar and thats your good carbs.

the 54g is the weight of the nutritient. Ex: 54g of oats...

thats 42 per serving.. x 7 servings in container = 294 carbs total

it does have any sugars in it :-D...well the brown rice that is.....someone told me that the 54 was the carb after it was cooked...so all this time I was eatting 3/4 a cup instead of 1/2..

hmmm

the total weight of the measurement is 54 grams, is it 42 total grams or 42 carbhydrate and like 15 fiber, fiber is a carbohydrate that humans cannot absorb. So 1/2 cup is 54 grams of all, and 42 grams of total carbs I am asssuming, but do not count fiber as a carb cause u cannot metabolize it into energy.
gooey

so when I'm doing my 1/2 cup I just count it as 42 carbs correct? I'm trying to get my calculations right
