Question on sterilizing gear

Hey fellas ,first post here, well lemme see ,im 39 ,training several years on and off and im considering jumping into a light test cycle ,my question is I have seen ugl warning videos on absesses,etc. From dirty gear,if I am paranoid and filter it then autoclave it,will that be enough to sterilize it to make sure I wont get infections?

if ya add 2% BA to the concentration, (assuming its already 2%BA) and then filter it with a .22 into a sterile vial, almost all bacteria will be eliminated through filtering, the remaining will die within a week as the BA concentration is high enough to stop it reproducing and thus all the bacteria dies eventually

not sure but someone can chime in if im wrong....using the old tren kits one of the last steps i remember was put in oven at 250deg for 10 min , cool repeat 2 more times...

That was due to those old kits being made for the pellets. Tons of glue and other binders that "cooked" to the side of the vial upon the repeated heatings.

Completely unnecessary with powders.

For sterilization, as was said above, 2% BA and .22 filter will do the job.

If you filter sterilize into an already sterile container, then that is enough especially with a 220 nanometer pore size.

If autoclaving, make sure to use dry heat for about 120 minutes. The specific heat of carrier oils does not facilitate better heat transfer with moist heat.

Does anyone have experience with the Whatman Autovial filters? Looks to me like it makes the process much easier. From the research I've done, I've seen that people have a tough time pushing the oil through the.22 syringe filter - makes things really tough if you're brewing a big batch.

I use these...

250ml Nalgene MF75 Complete Sterile Filter - 0.22 Pore Size/50mm dia.

And don't waste your money on the cheap-ass hand filters they have on medical sites. Go to an auto parts store and buy a brake line flushing kit with a hand pump. Less expensive and last WAY longer!

For filtering large volumes, this (one like it) is the way to go.

I have used and autovial, but for anything more than 2 or 3 vials your thumb will hate you.

a 60cc syringe happens to fit pretty well into a caulking gun.
