hi,
Need a little help/idea's. I am starting to experience more pain on the right knee iliotibial band on the outside and the left knee has a moderate amount of pain on inside of the patellar tendon.
Currently iceing 2 x a day, on ultra joint supp, anti inflam and doing some high rep (15-20) leg ext. Has anybody experienced something that might be helpful. open to any suggestions

Have you tried stretching your IT Band? There are a couple of stretches that always worked for me.

1) Stand straight-up w/ feet shoulder with apart. While still standing straight place your left foot over the top of your right. Both feet are still flat on the ground. Now lean a bit to your left and touch your right foot on the inside. You should feel a strong stretch in your IT band.

2) Lay on your back legs bent and feet flat on the ground. Pick-up your right leg and place it across your left thigh. Then with both arms grab your left shin and kind of rock back...This is a hard stretch to describe.

Do you think that as a result of your IT band hurting you are favoring your left and possibly causing the patella pain?

Do you play any sports besides bodybuilding?

It sounds like the patella tendon may just be tendonitis.

I personally would stop all leg extensions. Nothing kills my knees more that those. All of the orthopedic surgeons and PT's I have had have always told me to squat instead.

After 5 knee surgeries I can still squat with little pain.

You probably should go see a Physical Therapist, I am sure they could help you out...
