I've heard countless theories about how sex affects athletic performance, specifically precontest, since one is on limited nutrients and usually on a negative caloric environment.

What is everyone's thoughts on this? How does sex affect your contest preparation, do you obstain, limit it, or just count it as extra cardio?
 
it may encrease test production plus makes u feel good its great cardio if u can get it have as much as posible:D

it should have no affect. i would never avoid it.

Well I by no means was talking about the OP. He never once said he passed up sex due to his prep.

Ok, I understand all of the responses, but what I am asking is if ejaculation makes you lose too many nutrients. I also remember reading somewhere that it raises progesterone levels.

An older bodybuilder used to obstain for about 1-2 months!! before a show.
 
I for one dont beleive that for a second. Who cares have sex the night before...just dont mess up your tan! lol....On another note I have no interest or energy for sex at all the last few weeks before a show...comes right back after a trip to cheesecake factory tho :)
 
ONly show I ever did was back in 03 when I was natural and on no pro hormones or anything, and anyone like that would know, there is no sex 6weeks out till showtime :)
 
Classic thread. Trust me when I say having sex will not affect your placings. That being said if you are in really good shape you will be so tired that sex will be the last thing on your mind. If you are in a bed you would rather sleep precontest.;)

True. The last 6 weeks im lucky to even have enough energy to think about it, let alone perform it.:D
 
My wife and I had to laugh at this one.....Because I usually don't bother her the last six wks.:p at all. There have been some funny times and out of nowhere and she will tell me the next day do you remember what happened last night.......and we just laugh cause like Dusty said and Main when you are good shape you are too tired! hahaha!;)

Actually I can do that, because of 1 thing, less desire in older years:D I haven't had any sex in about that time, I feel great, I think if you had sex before training legs, it could effect you. Other than that I don't think it effects too much, unless you are having it 3 times a day, then you would tire out.:D
 
I remember when I did my first show(all natty) we were at the hotel the night before and did this gay epson salt bath in the hottube at the hotel. These hotties walk by in bikin's and are checking us out and as they walk by i say "Hey girl, you wanna feel the sofest erection you've ever felt" LOL we all just laughed and they looked at us like were crazy.
