:( I've had pnuemonia for almost three weeks. Went to my Doc and have been on some nasty antibiotics. I'm starting to feel better. I lost 13 pounds while sick and am itching to get back in the gym. Does anyone recommend how long to wait before returning to my happy place?

You'd better ask you doctor. But I would give it a try only if I felt 100% healed !

Pneumonia is serious stuff. I would get the doctors OK first. Not worth taking even a small chance on a BIG setback. Get back to 100% and then take that enthusiasm to the gym and have some fun.

Thanks for the advice. I think one more week and I should be able to start back in. My diet has suffered as well as a lot of other things. I'm really bummed about my weight loss. I'm starting to pick it back up slowly.
Anyone have any advice on diets to regain what I've lost.
Start eating small cows? Buffalos?

just go back to eating clean but make sure you eat enough to attain your progress. I would not go back and just eat a bunch of junk because I had lost weight while I was sick. You may even end up looking better since losing the weight

Bump protein and carbs make sure you have plenty of fluids intake do the normal 6 to 8 meals per day. And definitely check with your doctor before you start to workout.

Tried to get back on the 6 meal a day and lost it after my 4th. It's going to be a slow process. Ahh well.
Your right about looking a little better. After all the hacking and weight loss my abs are starting to pop.

Try to make your portion sizes smaller so you can eat more often. And as others have said, get the all clear from your doc before resuming gym work. You do not want a relapse!!!

Took your advice. Cut the size of my meals. Also have an appt. to see my Doc tomorrow. Hopefully he'll give me the O.K. to get back in it.
I've always kept my fluid intake high. So thats not a problem. Had some fish and broccoli and some brown rice for supper and It's sitting well.
I really appreciate you guys taking time to share some of your wisdom with me. Thanks a bunch:D :D

Got the green light from my Doc. Hit the gym for the first time in almost a month. Can't believe how much strength I lost. Took it easy and spent 45 minutes at it and started to feel a little nauseated so I called quits.
It's going to take awhile. Thanks to everyone that gave their advice and time.:D :D :D :D :D :D :D
