Squats make ass bigger?

Hey guys I've searched but couldn't find out...ok my problem area is my ass and waist....I was talking with someone and was told that I probably shouldn't be doing deadlifts and squats because they make the glutes grow. My ass does't really stuck out but its sort of wide and yes I do have high b/f...so I was wondering what would you all suggest I do? Oh by the way yes I'm doing cardio and have my diet in check

i beleive it depends on structure , if your naturally a wider waiste person and want to keep a smaller waist hips/ass then stick with Lunges hack squatts and leg press , as for back try doing partial deads seems to take pressure off the glutes.
 
thats bulls^%$. ur but isnt going to get wider. if u squat heavy or dl heavy, and i dont mean like 315 or 405, without a belt, ur waiste will get blocky because u have to strengthen those muscles in ur obleques and abs. it wont make ur but wider, bigger maybe but not wider. and for it to really work ur butt u would need to be using a wide stance, meaning at least shoulder width or wider and go to parallel or deeper.

if u want to take the emphasis off glutes and hams use a narrow stance about nipple width with toes angled out very slightly to protect knees.

of course lose fat and u wont have that problem, but hell, thats no fun!

yes a wider stance will make your ass and hammies bigger....you can really feel the strain on your hammies more if you have a "powerlifter" stance.
 
Shoulder width stance squats will not make ur ass that much bigger. It will hammer your quads though.
 
Ass Muscle

Try to say it how ever you want..your ass is a very large muscle...and a very strong muscle...squat ,leg press,hack..you are going to get a bigger tighter ass !....it's a muscle
 
My wife says I have a black mans ass now, because of squats. I'd rather have what I have now than no ass at all, I mean how else do you hold up your pants? J.R.

Have a look at any of the big guys you like - who all squat heavily. Sure, they have a bigger ass than you, but smaller in proportion to the whole package.
