I can't believe they voted for NY to host the 2014 Superbowl in the new Meadowlands stadium. Who in the F is gonna want to sit in the stands in February in NY? Not to mention the players playing in the cold or a snowstorm slipping and falling down all over the place with no passing game:confused:. Not a good fit imo but I guess its all about money.

that's basically the bottom line,$. Now every other cold weather franchise will want to host, and they'll be right to expect to be able to. Funny though, New York Superbowl in 2014, to be played in Jersey...

Yeah funny. That's no game watching guys flopping around in the snow instead of an aired out passing game. Sorry to be redundant, didn't see the other thread....

Shit maybe by then the jets will have a decent enuf team that can play in front of the home crowd :D

Yeah they look good with all their off season aquisitions. I'd say their the team to beat in the AFC now.

Seems like I'm in the minority, but I think Super Bowls should be played in all weather. I have been to games in near blizzard conditions (Buffalo) and find those games to be atleast as much fun as games in nice weather, probably more.

I also went to the outdoor hockey game they played in Ralph Wilson Stadium on new years a few years ago. They didn't have any problem selling out that game and hockey on a good day has about 10% the following as football.

A cold weather super bowl will work out fine, I'm glad to see it. That is assuming the world doesn't end in 2012

I'm from the B-lo too bro. Hockey is totally different. The weather wouldn't effect the game like it would in football. Buffalo doesn't have a passing game either with their quarterback so it wouldn't matter when they played, lol

Looks like I know where I will be for 2014 Super Bowl, IN MY HOUSE WATCHING IT ON TV!!!:D

Yeah, I know right. Who in the right mind is gonna want to sit in the stands in the cold and wind:confused: in February in NY, lol:confused:

Dome football.... Ugh.

Football was made to be played on real grass, in all weather conditions. If you are a truly great team, you can play in rain, fog, snow, or heat. You make the necessary adjustments. Then again, that's how I played when I was growing up. And those are the teams I rooted for as well. Hell, if I can watch a Viking-Bears regular season game in -20 wind chills, then corporate fat-cats can deal with having to turn on the heater in their skyboxes at the 2014 Superbowl :D Besides, isn't the average temp in NYC in Feb like almost 40? When I lived in Manhattan for three years I didn't even need a true winter coat during any of that time.

Also, it can be said that playing in the heat is an advantage to warm-weather teams....

No, 40's is the high. More like the 20's with wind, so it will feel like single digits. I'm in Western NY and Feb. is about the coldest month.

Glad to see the game being played in my own back yard, but i do see the OP's point! I don't mind that kind of football though!
