Has anyone ever had a bone spur or arthroscopic surgery to remove it? It was caused by significant arthritis in my shoulder.

I’ve had pain in my left shoulder for quite some time and finally got an MRI to get it looked at, confirming this diagnosis.

Deca has made a tremendously beneficial impact on reducing the pain so that it doesn’t limit anything I do in the gym (besides trying to get my left shoulder under the squat bar), but it’s never going to go away unless I fix it.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with this specific injury and how recovery was if you did it.

I did back in 03’ in my mid-20’s. I went in for arthroscopic surgery for a torn labrum. While they were inside they shaved down some gnarly jagged bone spurs that would’ve eventually caused me problems down the road.

Took 6-8 months to feel zero pain afterwards. Recovery sucked ass for the first 5-6 days. After two weeks things got much better!

How long before you were able to train again?

I was told it is likely to grow back within ten years if I decide to do this. You haven’t had any issue since?

I an going to look into this as have a spur that digs into the underside of my delt as I broke the tip of my right clavicle as a little kid and it was never set properly and a spur has formed over the years causing pain when benching. As this is an old injury, hoping that it can be ground down.

I believe this is what I had. If memory serves the procedure is called distal clavicle resection. I was told to purchase the below ice machine and I had to sleep in a recliner for a week. It was very painful for the first 3d then pain dissipated rapidly. The AC joint is what they shaved down on me. Like cage they went in expecting to have to screw in a torn labrum which luckily just had minor tear. I had top tier shoulder surgeon. He informed me the recovery would be much better without having to screw in torn labrum. I believe I was fully functional within a month.

6 months for me but I was really taking it easy during this time too. Full bore at one year. I wasn’t trying to expedite healing or anything at that time either so take that in mind too!!!!
