saw it this morning with my daughter and brother, it kicked ass majorly, I thought that they did a great job at it. At first, I was a little pissed as I thought that they shoulda got someone bigger, but IMO, he pulled the role off greatly. I don't want to give away the very end scene, but it was kick ass for Chris Reeve fans as well. Not sure how many of you young bucks will understand what I mean by that.

going Saturday to see it again, driving 2 hours away from me just to see it in 3d at the Imax. hehe

I say it's a must see. Summer hit for sure.

Rob
also if you watched the Superman cartoon (yes I watched em and loved em hehe) you'll love the "first" actual scene of when he's in his suit again. if you remember the first episode of the cartoon anyway.

gonna take my son this weekend. He has never seen any of the older ones though.

thank God it turned out awesome, i was becomming sceptical of the new smaller superman, now i cant wait to see it, thanks for the report.

I hear good things. Actually got my girl to get tix and watching it after work..can't wait to wait in line!!!!

Thanks for reminding me. Downloading it now. :D

A buddy of mine has a song in the move- "Save Me" by Maxeen. It's good to see his band will be apart of a good flick.

I just got back from watching it. Pretty damn good movie. They made all of his shows of strength look effortless, as they should be. There should be no sign of strain in picking up a car for a guy who can move a planet. I can understand a little strain in the end because that thing had kryptonite in it. They didn't do his speed justice though. But there was that part where the reporter on tv in the background said "there are reports of Superman flying around at near light speed", so at least they did mention it. But yeah, Brandon Routh didn't do too bad, I guess. I still think Batista would've been a perfect Superman.

same for me bro i cant wait either. gotta love superman

This movie was fucking awsome,THE MUSIC is so great. They even kept the old staring lines from the 70's.

The plane part at the start was insane, when hes trying to move the plane holding the wing and it broke off then he Blast tru the wing with light speed!!!

Man i think im going to see it a second time.

Brandon Routh was right guy to play superman, superman is around 6.4 200,210.Superman is not Super muscular like a bodybuilder but more tall and handsome, one thing for sure is he did Look more good than Reeve.

Brian Singer directed the movie, he did the first two x-men movies, so i thought it would be really great.

Funny how Singer brought Cyclops from the X-Men into Superman. Now I know why Cyclops died so fast in X-3 so he could do Superman. Brandon looked odd in the suit, like some kind of torso enhancement, and like mentioned before this Superman did things without effort (Not like Reeves making a big grimace when stopping a bus) and even cocky.

The movie does have its slow moments and seem a little anti-climatic..perhaps leaving you wanting a little more. The special effects were gr8 as well as the shot angles. The story was above average for a comic action flick and Lois could have used more ASS. B+

It was great the way the movie payed respect and referenced to so much of what had gone before. I really loved the way they quoted Brando's Jor El from the "79 version. Also the reprisal of the John Williams movie score from that version. Jack Larson (Jimmy Olson) and Noel Neill (Lois Lane) from the 1950's TV series appeared in cameo roles. This new guy Brandon was definitely channeling Christopher Reeve. The FX were superb and the whole thing just added to the mythology of the Superman ethos.

I just came back from seeing it and I have to disagree with you all, I wasnt impressed. I though it was entertaining but in a very childish and simplistic way. It was very perdictable, cliche, and felt quite fragmented in that many of the scenes where set-ups for other ones which move the story along but it took almost the entire movie to get to the punchline. It didnt do a good job as an action movie becouse most of the action scenes where irrelevant to the plot and the ones that where, where a bit short and unsataisfying. It also didnt do a good job as a love story becouse those scenes was quite cheezy, melodramatic, and as I sad before, cliche. I was actually yawning during some of the scenes with Lois and Superman and Im not all about action and explosions either. The battle between Lex Luthor and Superman was also a very small part of the movie..I mean they only interacted for like 15 minutes at the most, they can at least meet a a few times during the movie, have it out, ect. ect. Whats up with that??
I did like some of the scenes like where the bullet bounces off of his eyeball, and the part with the airplane. The best party of the movie in my opinion was Kevin Spacy as Lex Luthor...I thought he did a great job!
Overall, I thought they should have done a much better job for a movie like this! Does anyone know who the director was becouse he is at fault here! Had this movie been done by someone like Speilberg or Peter Jackson, it would have been much better.

|--[\\\\]>------- Just too long for me. it was good, but way too long IMO. also, i feel the best "super hero' movie so far has got to go to Batman Begins. I think that had WAY more action than superman or any other hero movie. I was cool to see superman and new special effects, back in the day of C.Reeves, you could practicly see the cables attatched to him while he was flying!

No offense to any superman fans here as I like superman myself and have yet to see the movie but the new batman films will be better becuase batman is such a more beliveable character. Any of us with that amount of money could be batman in real life with that type of training. You can identify with batman more becuase he is just a mortal human with no super powers but his mind and his wallet.

But to be perfect honest the best comic book character adaptation to the movies is prolly spiderman. Overall the 2 spiderman films and the punisher have been very well done in my opinon. They just feel like your watchin a live comic book. Even xmen, hulk and fantastic 4 didnt have that feeling and all were very well done. Daredevil was a waste. I hope they dont make a sequel and elecktra was good but not a worthy screen character in my opinon. Only complaint about punisher was that tom jane ( lead role) didnt really look like the punisher from the comics. The punisher from the comics looks like a 250lbs itailian bodybuilder.

Mav,
there was a version of the punisher with Dolph Lundgren that was very good in my opinion. The storyline was fair but Dolph's portrayal of the punisher was excellent.
