They claim there is 0% lactose in there product.

Is this true?

This would be great, because I'm lactose-intollerant.

G.

Ingredients

Ingredients: PROMINA ultrafiltered and undenatured Whey Protein Isolate (includes Beta Lactoglobulin , Alpha Lactoglobulin , Glycomacropeptides, Immunoglobulin, Bovine Serum Albumin, Protease Peptone, Lactoferrin, Lacto Peroxidase), citric acid, natural and artificial flavors, lecithin, aspartame, acesulfame-K, FD&C Yellow #5, FD&C Blue #1.

I looked up the ingredient Lactoglobulin and here is what I found:
Macromolecule -- lactoglobulin A, beta- (M0EZ)
Molecule Name : lactoglobulin A, beta-
Alias Names :
Common Name: bovine
Tissue: milk

I'm no scientist, but based on what it says here, does anyone know if that means it does have lactose in it or what? Thats the way I read it, but I'm not 100% positive...I have an email out to the manufacturer with the above info, I'll let you know what they tell me...

55-60% of the protein in whey protein is alpha and beta lactoglobulin, but the actual amount of lactose found within the protein is very, very small. It is common that if a label claims zero fat or zero carbs it means less than 1%.

I love this stuff, I usually buy pure CFM WPI straight from the Canadian manufacturer so it is not flavoured. Anyone have any idea where I can get flavouring like Syntrax Nectar's? That would be sweet!

Dude, thanks :)

Got the answer!

Hey bro,
I got a response from the company...here it is:

Hello,

It probably has a very small amount of lactose in it. The Syntrax Nectar is a Whey Protein. Whey proteins are typically nearly lactose free. Lactose is found in the carbohydrate of milk. The act of creating whey from milk removes most of the carbs, which also removes the lactose.

I hope this information is of help to you.

Best Regards,

Looks like you should be good to go with it....btw, have you ever tried "Lactaid"? I don't think I'm lactose intolerant, but all those shakes made with milk really used to give me that bloated/gassy feeling...and the Lactaid took care of it.

old thread

but i just picked up some of this stuff....not bad kinda sweet,,,different from the choc/vanill/straw falvors!!

cheap too!

syntrax makes quality shit so i believe this stuff is top shelf

the Green Apple kicks!!! Love it
If I never have another choclate or vanilla protein shake it'll be too soon;)

There is a small amount of lactose left in it but you most likely wont notice it even if you are fairly sensitive and as stated above the green apple is awesome.
