I just filtered 3ml of oil and I m pretty sure I lost at least 1ml. Is this normal with Whatman filters?

Those filters hold about a ml of oil.I would just run a ml of oil without hormone in it through the filter to get your gear out.

You lost 1ml out of 3ml OR 1ml out of 30mls???

If it's the first, you lost ~33% of your oil which is far too much! Did you "prime" the filter with oil before you filtered your "finished" oil???

If it's the latter, that's not bad, only lost ~3%!

Nope I lost one out of 3ml. What do you mean by prime. Sorry new to using this type of filter. Please inlighten me.

pretty normal,,,you may lose a very small amount. laod and extra 1-2ml of sterile oil in seperate pin and pass it thru at end to get all the good oils. also warming the oil slightly helps oil pass much easier through filter.
