tendonitis help

voltaren will get rid of inflamation but you still need to take it easy
 
Not the answer you want but it takes time. The tendon must heal which is a slow process. I have had some bad tendonitis in one of my knees and one bicep for months. It is finally now getting better. I learned the hard way you must give it rest, avoid things that aggravate it, and do a very good warmup on that bodypart. NSAID's relieve the pain somewhat but actually slow healing and mask it. Unfortunately, heavy weights are the worst since they put the most strain on tendon.
For me knee I fought through pain and kept squatting, taking a lot of NSAID's and it got worse and worse. I finally just took 2 weeks off from quad work, and worked back slow, just leg presses, and extentions, eventually smith squats and I am finally ready to get back under free weights. I now wish I had done that at first.
All of us have the mentality to fight through pain or we wouldn't be in this game. You need that mentality to excel. It just must be tempered for injuries. That was almost impossible for me.

I have used Voltaren and it is very effective at 100mg twice a day. It works great when the injury is minor, when there is more substantial damage you must rest, then Votaren to take away remaining pain once healing has had a chance. Just depends how bad the tendonitis is. My knee tendon was MRI'd and it was "frayed" (there was a medical term but I forget it). It needed rest.
My quads are my weakest body part. How I hated not working them. I had visions of chicken leg syndrome. They did atrophy slightly but now the gains are amazing since I am pain free and can squat again.
 
Rest is the key. You can take things to mask the pain, but in reality you need to give it a break. I also have a forearm tendonitis and it hurts when it flares up. I really have to warm it up quite a bit when doing biceps and I try to stay away from exercises that aggravate it more.

Injectable is better. When i was in the olympic team in Venezuela they used like acumpunture in the afected area. The doctors injected in my shoulder the 2 ccs ample with a mesotherapy neddle doing several injections.
