This is something not often (or ever) posted on here, so here goes.
Start looking into neurotransmitter issues with TRT. Some guys respond to trt and need nothing but test. But many, myself included, run into problems and require some other supps. Test for some means high dopamine, which sounds good, but after too long, it can also mean LOW progesterone, low cortisol, which means high Nor Adrenaline (backup fuel). This is where the problems begin.
The problems stem from (in many cases) LOW Pregnenolone and often low DHEA. Things your body stops making when you're shut down long enough.
And low progesterone, (yes) which is needed for sex drive. I dunno, but Id be willing to wager, that it's a ratio thing. i.e. With high Test, progesterone needs to be higher than normal levels.
Taking hCG EOD or often, daily, solves the pregnenolone problem. Taking a little DHEA solves the other. These are the base of many many other hormones. If your body is not making them, other neurotransmitters can't be made from them.
For me, this (suddenly) became a problem with stress, and very high NorEpinephrine-adrenaline. So I'd be nervous all the time, sex drive was shot. Absolutely.
hCG did a bit to help, but gotta deal with E2 then. DHEA gave me my first normal night's sleep in weeks. Libido is coming back.
Test and E2 are hammers. Sure you need some test. And some kinda E2, but the range for sex drive and function is wide. But having good levels of neurotransmitters in the brain is the key to well being,
Why does no one wonder that the "great" effect of Test goes away after a while? Something is missing.
Sorry for the rant. It's just that people are all about Test/E2. But some people (like me) have perfect numbers and feel like shit. Solving the brain levels of hormones and neurotransmitters brought me back when shit was getting way way out of hand for just a dude on TRT who cycles LOW doses maybe once a year...
