I have taken many ideas and concepts and thrown them into this dish, all i know is that it is really good for shredding a couple of pounds when you hit a flat spot or need to look your best or you have badly abused your body like now in the new year and you need something to make you feel good.
1 potato chopped
1 onion chopped
1 full celery head chopped
1 can of chopped tomatoes (or fresh if you have the time)
2 red peppers chopped
4 vegtable stock cubes
2 litres of water
(OPTIONAL Turbo charged shredding
add the juice of 1 full head of celery
and 1 or 2 onions made by using a juicer)
throw them all in a large pan and bring to the boil,
add 1 teaspoon of tomato puree
1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon of mustard (optional)
and a little grated ginger root
and depending on how hot you like it chilli pepper to taste ( I like it hotter when I am a little ill as it seems to clear my nasels etc)
let this soup simmer for approx 30-40 minutes so that all the vegies soften,
then blend the soup until it is smooth using a hand blender or normal blender( in 2 different parts)
then add approx 2 grms of parsley dried or fresh (if fresh add the stalks too and add before blending)
and enjoy
i have added things like pumpkin oil and flax oil before to the mix to give some omega 3
and on days when i want to get my fish oils and some good protein I have added a tin of tuna per litre or a chicken breast per litre
there should be about enough soup for 2 days,
I beleive it works well as the veggies act like duiretics and remove excess water, because you replace 3 or more meals with large bowls of soup, you take on board much more water, so the body releases its excess, the peppers have slight thermogenic properties and the heat of the soup in general too, by eating a hot meal burns more calories (this soup can make you sweat!!!!!).
I have used this soup and other like it to sucess in breaking through barriers with my fat loss, beleive it or not doing all the exercise and diet to perfection can be very frustrating when you can not see any results, it is great when just a couple of days adding a soup to your daily diet in replacement of what you normally do shocks the system and you lose a couple extrta pounds, if nothing else it spurs you on to greater things!!!! ;-)
