i thought we had a thread on this in the past but i searched and couldn't find anything.

i've currently taken on 3 clients who are very different from the people i usually train. 2 are tennis players and 1 is getting ready for a marathon. i was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on how to train tennis players and what kind of run/walk shedule should i put the runner on (she's doing a 10K)? also if nobody knows but has another place or a link where i could find info i'd be grateful. thanks

I tend to trian athletes in a practical way. I look at the movements involved in their chosen sport and trian the muscle with exercises that compliment these movements. The torso is the key to many movements so i focus on that. I would train them in a high rep high intensity routine to build muscular endurance and strength endurance. For tennis players pay special attention to the rotators in the shoulders and build a good solid torso. Hips and legs, very important again high reps high intensity. Good luck.
