No Kipping???
Aww crap, kipping saved my scrawny ass in boot camp....at 5'10" I was a strapping 150 pounds....I needed all the help I could get, kipping or otherwise....lol
Oh, and definitely a big DITTO on what slide said, the mental side of things was far greater than any PT test I went through.
My Dad was also in the Corp, back during the Vietnam era when boot camp was really hell, and he gave me some good advice:
When your standing there getting screamed at, just remember that grown men are being paid to scream at you and try to break you to weed out the "nasties" (as they called the quitters back then). ....best thing to do is to try and stay invisible, don't do or say anything to stand out from the crowd, NEVER volunteer to do ANYTHING keep your head down and your nose clean,,,,hell, the DI's didn't even know my name for the first four weeks I was there...lol...And remember, everything they have you do, from the way they make you sit on the floor during classes, to the way they make you scramble outta your bunk in the mornings, is all for very specific reasons that you will come to learn as boot progresses. Last of all remember, as much as it seems like the DI's hate your guts, they really do WANT you to succeed, and they are going to do everything they can to ensure you get all of the tools you need should you ever have to use them in real life combat situations...and given this administration, you may just have the chance to do so....
