training without a partner

machines are VERY important....and useful.

but....in saying that.....

you should be able to get a GREAT workout....on ANY body part.
with simply a pair of 25lb dumbbells....:lightbulb:

that's what up.
 
Hammer strength is your friend. You can push yourself to the edge and still be safe. Old school nautilus machines are also awesome.
Along the lines of what tenny said...
You can alter your rep ranges so you don't have to handle as much weight, that way when you get to failure you are not having to heave ho the heavy stuff.

Look into Gironda style training, particularly the 8x8 "Honest Workout".
 
I train better when i'm alone. No distraction, Just me and the weights....
 
Plus I always feel Bad for the Guy training with Me!
As I feel for most in the Gym.
It is easier to be Humble while Alone.
 
a great partner is much helpful for your training, maybe much laughter and interesting thing in the gym, concerning the safety, when you squat and banchpress, also you can ask someone for help
 
ok I always have trained with a partner because I like lifting to failure, but lately my partner has been inconsistent with the gym and I cant rely on him anymore ,my question is, there are lots of exercises I can lift to max without a partner ,but bb bench press and bb military press, you need a spotter, now if I switch to db bench and db military, I can still lift to failure ,I simply let the dumbells fall to my side, cant do that with bb, now switching to dumbells will that hurt me at all in building muscle ,I still lift to faliure

I never workout with partner even though It can def have its advantages, i am really the type of guy that goes in there, get my workout done and get out. But for this exact reason I dont max out on bp, but I will do so with barbells. My machine doesnt have a smith machine or I would utilize that.

nothing. i said the same thing to myself and was going to post it before i scrolled to the very next one. you must be smart as hell to think just like me. your friends and family are very fortunate to know you. i'm guessing chinese robotic response in most all it's posts.

back to op's question. i train alone. i love it. it's like you are in your fortress of solitude. i also lift with my gym partially in the dark and have done so for years. the mind muscle connection is intensified to a greater degree in my opinion. especially squats good in partial darkness. i have enough light coming in that i can see where to set barbell when i bench. always leave one side uncollared if there is an emergency.

you could move the bench to the rack, set the pins so you can't kill yourself. under no circumstance should you be supporting the bar over your head or neck at the bottom of a failed rep. consider lifting lesser weight and higher reps on days when your spotter is not there. go heavy when he is with you. happy lifting.

I have had the same training partner for years,I don't know what I'd do without him...Getting into a good routine with the same partner makes training more intense...
 
getting a parter makes workout not so boring

I very rarely lift with a partner because I feel that if I do I'll become dependent on him. It's kind of like headphones, I can't be at the gym without them now lol and if I forget them my workouts seem crappy. I feel that by lifting alone I will have consistency and will also never ego lift either.
