Lesnar was getting "handled." He came back and won. Same deal. The amount of time that it took is inconsequential. The result was the same. Silva, after being out-wrestled and pummeled, slapped on a triangle then transitioned to an armbar resulting in Sonnen submitting. Not only is it legitimate it underscores just how dangerous he really is. It also shows how Sonnen has no punching power and is not a finisher. "And STILL..."
I completly disagree with you. Carwin came out and start throwing huge bombs in a crazy flurry type fashin trying to end it quickly. Lesnar did what he had to do, DEFEND HIMSELF! He was never getting "handled"!! Brock was simply doing what he had to do until the flurry stopped, and then Brock took action and beat him down. Carwin realized his main tool and plan failed, and then got his ass beat in several different ways after.
Anderson used ALL his tools, and for 23 minutes, got his ass beat the whole time. And yes, time is very important dude. Lesner defended a flurry for about 3 minutes, got up and won. Anderson got his ass BEAT BAD with all types of tactics from Sonnon, for 23minutes! Two TOTALLY different situations.

Exactly the only difference is that Carwin gassed like a fat kid chasing an ice cream truck and Chael kept up a ridiculous pace for 5 rounds. Lesnar's fight was closer to be stopped than Silva's was.(glad it didnt) Silva said he wanted to sub Chael after the shit he said about the Nog brthers. You can see that he's looking for the triangle/armbar and Chael got locked in one again.

I've seen it before and I hope this isn't the new trend in mma. Wrestlers that maintain a top position and just keep moving to prevent a standup. They don't look for subs they just try to out point their opponent.
Coulda, shoulda, wouldas, ifs and buts the Champ is still the Champ.
How come nobody mentioned that Chael tapped then said he didn't until the replay showed it. Something he's done before and his trainer has done too.

:yeahthat: It keeps being said that Silva got beaten for 23 minutes but that's the Effing POINT! He was being dominated for 23 minutes and Sonnen couldn't finish him. Not only that, the fight was never in any danger of being stopped. Some people just refuse to admit they're wrong. It's funny. I won't even respond to it anymore. It's not like it will change the AWESOME outcome. "AND STILL..."
Got to love this attachment. Win or lose, It was a great fight. I was pulling for Sonnen but you have to admit Silva capitalized on Sonnen's mistake and took that oportunity.
