Renato Sobral vs. Jason Lambert

Round 1: They feint, Babalu lands a low kick and a few headshots before taking Jason down. Babalu lands a few overhands to the head. Babalu getting the better of him on the ground. Jason tries to stand and gives his back to Babalu. Babalu almost get a rear naked choke. Lambert gets up and lands some nice uppercuts. Lands another 2 hard shots, Babalu is hurt. The round ends to save Babalu. Still give the round to Babalu.

Round 2: Babula comes out throwing knees, Lambert counters and takes Babalu down. Babalu looks gassed. Lambert trying to apply the ground and pound. Babalu is defending from his back, but is still being punished. McCarthy stands them up. Lambert lands a hard left cross and KOs Babalu. Babalu has NO idea what the hell happened.

Matt Hughes vs. Chris Lytle

Matt Hughes vs. Chris Lytle

Round 1: Lytle comes out swinging. Hughes takes him down, Lytle takes a one arm guillotine but looses it. Hughes keeps trying to pass, and eventually takes side. Drops some nice elbows. Hughes almost gets and arm bar before the round ends. Round to Hughes.

Round 2: Hughes takes him down against the octagon, and takes side control. Hughes dropping huge elbows to the head of Lytle. Hughes takes full mount. Lytle is cut. Lytle flips him over and takes mount. Matt is going for a kimora. Hughes take side mount just before the rounds ends. Round to Hughes

Round 3: They feint and Hughes takes him down and gets side control. Hughes working an Americana but leave it. Hughes trying to improve position. Not much happening, the crowd is booing. Hughes in control but landing very little. Hughes goes for an arm bar and misses just before the end of the round. Round to Hughes.

Hughes by decision.

Rich Franklin vs. Jason MacDonald

Rich Franklin vs. Jason MacDonald

Round 1: MacDonald takes a leg, but Franklin pushes his head down and they trade. Franklin lands some nice shit and MacDonald shoots and misses. They clinch and Franklin is in control keeping MacDonald against the wire. They trade, Franklin the only one landing. Fr takes him down and stand over him landing some nice head shots. MacDonald stand, takes Franklin down. Franklin flips him over and lands a few before the end of the round. Round to Franklin.

Round 2: MacDonald comes out striking and Franklin counters nicely. MacDonald keeps taking a leg, but can’t do anything with it. MacDonald pushed Franklin down and grabs and arm, but Franklin pulls out and takes side control. Franklins mounts and starts tee-ing off. Franklin get Macdonald’s back and is applying the punishment. The round ends with Franklin in full mount beat the shit outa MacDonald. MacDonald can hardly walk. They call the fight, MacDonald can't continue. Franklin by TKO.

I am glad for Franklin. I got to hang out with him when him and Jorge were refs at one of my friends fights, and he is a super nice guy. Funny too, we were talking about his fight with Silva, and he was like, "I looked up at the screen and saw my nose pointing sideways and I though, Shit I can smell my fucking ear".

Shit, he is telling the crowd (his hometown fans) to quit booing Silva. Damn nice guy.

Martin Kampmann vs. Drew McFedries

Martin Kampmann vs. Drew McFedries

Round 1: They trade, McFedries landing the better shots. Drops Kampmann but Kampmann is back up. McFedries landing heavy shots. Kampmann takes him down and gets side control. Kampmann landing some nice knees to the side, gets mount and then arm triangle. It’s over, McFedries is out.

Tim Sylvia vs. Randy Couture

Tim Sylvia vs. Randy Couture for the UFC Heavyweight Title

Round 1: They touch up and Couture immediately drops Sylvia with a right toi the chin and rushes in and tries to finish him. Sylvia gets up and Couture takes him down and stretches Sylvia out. Sylvia looks for Big John to stand them up, but Big John tells Sylvia to get himself out. Couture trying to work in a rear naked choke but can’t do it. The round ends with Couture in control. Round to Couture.

Round 2: They feint and Couture lands again. The clinch and Sylvia pushes him off. Randy shoots and takes Sylvia down. Couture tries to work the ground ‘n pound but is not landing that much. All Sylvia can do is tie up Couture’s hands. Big John stands them up. Couture land a nice hook and takes Sylvia down just before the round ends. Another round to Couture.

Round 3: Sylvia is bleeding from the nose and looks tired. He is trying to keep Couture on the end of his reach, but Couture still landing. Sylvia can’t hit him, Couture is winning the standup battle. The round ends with Couture showing Sylvia has to stand and strike. Round to Couture, but he is tired.

Round 4: Couture takes Sylvia down, works the ground and pound. Big John stands them up. The stand and strike, and as usual Sylvia is telegraphing his punches and Couture slips them and counters. Couture takes him down and takes side control and work some ground and pound. Couture take full mount, but Sylvia get out and get control. They stand and trade just before the round ends. Couture dominating to take another round. The only way Sylvia can win is by sub or KO.

Round 5: They stand and strike, clinch, and Couture takes Sylvia down. Couture takes half guard and lands some elbows. Sylvia tries to take a leg and Couture gets side control out of it. Couture sinks some knees into the side. All Sylvia is doing is trying to tie Couture up so Big John will stand them up. Couture keeps dropping elbows and sinking knees to Sylvia side. Couture takes full mount with 1:30 remaining. He now only 60 seconds away from winning. Sylvia stands and Couture takes him right back down. Sylvia is sucking air and getting totally dominated. Sylvia is going nothing but holding. Couture keeps throwing and the round ends.

Couture totally owned him, the entire fight.

Bruce Buffer calls the fight, all 3 judges scored it 50-45 for Couture. Randy Couture is the new UFC Heavyweight Champion. Again.

Randy Couture, "Not bad for an old man."

Fuck that was an awesome fight. Couture showed that he is undoubtedly one of the toughest guys in the sport.

I wondered from the beginning how the hell anyone figured Sylvia could possibly win. Couture's always been one of the best there is and Sylvia's always just kind of been there. It was obvious Sylvia had no idea how to handle a GOOD opponent. He should be thankful that he lost this fight and won't have to face Crocop. That just saved him a lot of pain and a major humiliation.

couldnt say it any better, i didnt see how ppl were comin up with this first round KO non sense. but anyways the better fighter won that fight for sure

as far as hughes goes, ya he won but i expected a little more out of him but good fight tho

franklin, good fight i think he wanted to do more as well but still cant complain with a KO
