Hey I am curious if anyone here has had any ulcers?

What were your symptoms?

I recently had a couple episodes with barfing my brains out for no reason...woke up with a distended belly and burping acid...tried to control it, but just barfed for about 15 minutes.

I have a small stabbing pain in my upper left ab area...

Yes yes I am heading to the doc tomorrow, I just wanted some in site from some people that have had one or two.

Also, what are the chances of it bleeding...I am heading on vacation for 9 days, and would hate to have any complications with it.

i've gotten them from NSAIDS. i think the particular one was advil. i thought i had hacked up an organ or something.

I've had Ulcerative Colitis my whole life (usually affects the lower left side), but whenever it flares up or nausea occurs and I tend to control it with Aloe Vera and cut out all foods with high acidity.

Anti-Flammatories such as Aspirin or Ibuprofen eat my insides alive as they cause bleeding for people with weak stomach linings so I'm just extremely careful puting things in my body when I'm having an episode.

I just went for an upper endoscopy last month for the same symptoms. barfing especially in the morning. distention, belching. doctor said I have many esophageal ulcers. he put me on zegerid which is similar to nexium but a much better drug. I have a follow up tomorrow in fact with him. i'll keep you posted.

I burp a lot more now than I use to...especially after eating.

Acid burps from gatorade, OJ, and some other acidic juices.

when I was puking, I woke up with my mouth watering, acid burps and a distended belly...very distended.

i too have the same sypmtoms had an endoscopy done it turned out to be acid reflux. i cant eat large meals or highly acidic foods distention is caused by excessive air in the stomach so is the burping according to my gi doc/ keep us posted i use prevacid,

I had ulcers as a kid. Generally it was a pain in my breadbasket area, but bothered me worse after eating-especially spicy or greasy foods. You will crave milk, but drinking it will only worsen symptoms exponentially due to the lactose. Your symptoms sound more like a hernia or just plain old indigestion.

Some types of gear make my stomach extra sensitive, but it seems to fade after a few weeks. You also may wanna pay close attention to your otc supplement intake. Are you using anything that you haven't used in the past???

this is true. the Doctor asked me if I was on steroids because they could have an effect on the stomach. just something to take into consideration.

I suffer from acid reflux to the point where my throat swells up from the stomach acid. Its a burning feeling in my midsection often accompanied by burping and feeling bloated first thing in the morning. My doctor prescribed nexium and it seems to have calmed it down but you have to make sure you take it with food or you will feel even worse. Stay away from pineapple, citrus and sauces as this can trigger it. I also find taking tylenol triggered it as well. But i have had what u have and still do get it from time to time, in severe cases u burp up like a yellow bitter tasting substance that makes u puke just on the taste alone. Have your doc do a test for H-Pylori to determine whether or not u have a peptic ulcer. I know it can be a pain in the butt feeling like that so i hope you get treatment for it.

Sounds a lot like acid reflux.. I had it so bad that when I would burp my ears felt like they were burning. Had an upper endoscopy done and the doc put me on Prilosec.

I was told to avoid acidic fruits, juices, chocolate, heavy sauces and coffee. Can't over eat or it'll flair up.

Ditch the Gatorade!!! This stuff makes my reflux act up like nothing else....
