God I knoiw I have this right..I just heard on TV that in the last 10 yrs 104 wrestlers have died all being under the age of 50...of these 104, 40 were professional wrestlers and the other 64 had wrestled at one time or another in the industry.

it is kinda funky isn't it? almost like some kinda curse...

British Bulldog Davey boy Smith, Rick Rude, That guy from the hart foundation, Andre the Giant, (Big Boss man I think) just to name a few.

|---[\\\\]>----------- yep, when benoit died, CNN showed a list of all the ppl who have died..and there were names i didnt know died..yokozuna, kamala, big bossman, rick rude, and many others. shit...even a few good woman have died...miss elizabeth!!!

what were the causes for most of these deaths? is it due to rec drug use?

Did Dusty Rhodes, Sg slaughter and the million dollar man also die? I cant rememeber and Im too tired to even bother searching about it?

Those guys take a beating day in day out, week after week, month after month. They have to be in constant pain. Probably one of the toughest "sports" there is.

thanks for the link, a lot of heart failure or heart related probs....
if we had lots of ex-football and bodybuilders from the old days dying of heart probs also, then a link to gear use could be made....

True, I wouldn't draw a conclusion this info alone.

Look at the lifestyle most of them lead.

its the life style...party/booze/drugs/workouts does not go well together...alex

Pain meds are a huge problem, they seriously take a toll mentally and physically on you.

Million Dolar man got out and found Jesus. He knew he had to stop what he was doing. He's a practising minister now if I'm not mistaken

Great link.
Very sad to see. Most of them where on cycle year round because of their job.
Chris Candido was a awesome guy he worked out all the time at NYSC in NJ. He would talk to anyone no matter who you are.
He was off the juice for while but was tring to make a comeback to WWE. It was a freak thing with the blood clot from he's surgery.

I agree. And as was mentioned... factor in the pain killer addition. These guys are on the road 24/7 putting their bodies through hell in the ring and and partying hard outside the ring. It takes a toll no doubt...

These numbers are completely meaningless out of context. 104 out of HOW MANY? How many would they count as a "wrestler" in this way? (I think the wrestling circuit is WAY larger that just the big-time stuff that is on TV.)

For these numbers to have any validity, you have to know the total pool of subjects, as well as the mortality rate compared with a control group. I hate when the media spout these bad-sounding yet completely meaningless numbers.

It' s like saying that in the last 10 years, 876 truck drivers died under the age of 50! 250,000 accountants! 97 beekeepers!
