ventrogluteal site???

has anyone here tryed the ventrogluteal here its supposed to be awesome let me know if you have how it went and what the best way you think is to find it thanks bros.

I'm also very curious about who here has injected into this area.

It's the side of the glutes, right in the "pizza" shaped gluteus medius muscle. It's below the iliac crest and supposedly you can inject anywhere from 3cc to 5cc at a time. Not sure how accurate that is, but there are studies claiming this is the safest site to hit.

Already have all of the nursing information and very informative how-to's on injecting here. My question is has anyone here actually DONE a ventrogluteal injection? It seems like the easiest spot to hit, with little fat, away from all major veins and arteries and enough mass to hold 5cc.

That is the CORRECT glute injection site, as promoted in medecine.
People have been injecting incorrectly due to erroneous information promoted by spotinjections.com - makes me cringe everytime I see those injection spots they promote.

That's the dorsogluteal site on howtodoinjections. The old upper outer quadrent rule for injection into the gluteus maximus. Ventrogluteal invloves injection into the gluteus minimus. Interestingly enough, although this is considered the best option for IM injections, very few (12%) of educators in the U.S. actually teach this. I was not taught this in my formal education and I graduated w/ a B.S. from the second largest nursing program in the U.S. @ the time.

There is no name for the injection site shown on spotinjections.

I used to inject there. It's hard not to go through minor blood vessels if you're doing it yourself. It was painless but often have the most blood coming through. That usually leaves more of a mark.

Hey thanks Ivan. And if you don't mind asking, what size pin and guage? I want to give 25g / 1 inch a try since I'm lean, but anyway what did you use for the Ventro?

I use a 25g, 1" everywhere except glutes (as described here). I use a 25g, 1-1/2" for glutes (they're a hard size to find).

I use 23 guage '1 1/4 (inch and a quarter) blues. works perfect if you hit it right.

Ventro-glute is my favourite site. Easy enough to find provided you have proper directions..

I have shot 5ml there no problem....shooting that much in most other sites would cripple me.
