I have been taking some pretty cool classes in my last couple classes in the dietetics depatment.
my teacher picked me to be the test subject for v02 testing because I am a bodybuilder. so I agreed. I am about 230 or so about 6-7%
I havent ran in over 4 years and I only do walking as my cardio. LOL
so I got on started up and ended up getting 54% was my highest peak, but I was actually still increasing and probably could have gone higher but I was sore as fuck from doing legs recently so I bitched out. The lady doing the testing was really suprised because most bbers dont get anywhere near what I did and she said that because mine was still increasing it meant I could have gone a bit longer and had a little higher number. She was also suprised because you can predict my potential and I was only at about 88% of my possible potential meaning if I was to train for it I could increase significantly especially if I lost 10lbs or so and did running for cardio. she said most likely I could have been around a 60 if I wanted to.
It was also sweet because I got to see at what heart rate and level of intinsity I burn bodyfat the most efficently. at walking around 4mph I was burning 87% bodyfat and only 13% carbs (heart rate of 117 or so). She said she had never seen anything like that. I told her thats exactly how I have always done my cardio when dieting for shows.
we also did blood tests mine came back great.
and we also did bod pod, caliper etc etc
then we did urea/ creatinine levels in our urin by doing urine collections.
I had some weird results, I took in about 400+ grams a day of protein and my urea output was only around 52X6.25 nitrogen so 325 grams. So I am kinda confused my teacher thinks my level of output should be about the same as my input but mine is no whear near accurate. I was thinking I am absorbing and utilizing a great deal because I am bulking, taking supps etc. but to my knowledge your only going to gain maybe 22grams of lean tissue in any given day. Does anyone have any explanation to this?? could it be because of supps, or maybe because I am still gaining back muscle that I lost during my last contest diet and muscle memory has kicked in.
