What do you recommend for hosting, building or having a company build the site for you?

I recommend a professional customized site or your site will look pre-canned. Our company does websites, and they usually start at about $4k and go upward depending on what functionality you would like. HOWEVER, this is a different phylosophy than most. With that price you own the source code, and it can be run on any webserver you like. We also allow as many users as needed at no additional costs for internal websites. On top of that there are zero maintenance fees unless you ask for modification of some sort that you are not able to do yourself with our back end tools. I find this phylosophy to be the best out there and allows the company in question to take full control of their webstie without being locked into a particular vender. MAKE SURE you understand that most of these out ther elike screendreamers.com, etc are code generated running on a back end framework. You cannot purchase source code from them whatsoever. So what does that mean? You are locked into them for as long as you would like to have a website, WITH maintenance and hosting costs. In the end you are a victim of whatever they decide you will pay over the years of functionality. Our code is also modular. What does this mean? Well, when you decide to add something at a later time, we dont have to reinvent the wheel and totally recode your site. Take bar code scanners for instance. If you want to add that at a later date, it is very easy for us to add that module. This type of programming directly correlates to the over all TCO of your project over the years.
Anyway, whoever you decide, and if you dont want to waste your money, make sure you at least get the above mandatory business stability factors and you should be fine.

Nice. 4k is alot for me now. Although I will put that on the backburner. IT would be nice to have a site NOT looking like a cheesy template.

I am looking into working with Dreamweaver per Big A's advice.

Have a company build it for you.. there are alot of smart guys out there who will do it for pennys... very cheap

Also make sure you Optimize your website within google... its called SEO, look into it there are alot of companys who can make this happen also.
