What is the hardest thing to do in the bodybuilding lifestyle for you?

I only do it on non training days.
I may do 25 minutes total if you count the warm up and cool down but my heart rate is usually 160-170 and then down..it's just enough to get you breathing hard and heavy sweat and blood flowing not that catabolic shit where you walk or step for hours it seems. When contest dieting I never did excessive cardio sessions (time) I'd cut cals more and save the catabolism.
women have an insane ability to do cardio for hours it seems I remember training this girl and she was doing 6 hours of cardio a day and was wondering why she had no energy and was stagnant in her fat loss I was like "Shit that's a full time job you are doing on the treadmill!"

I am going to start doing this and see how I feel after a month. I suspect I will like the results and make it a permanent addition to my training. I used to think if I did cardio at all I would implode!

Good post!

The hardest part for me is balancing life especially during precontest times. I always have a 101 things on my to do list and never enough time. I feel like I'm juggling balls and someone keeps add another one.

I think for me it's the 50lb yo-yo in bodyweight from lean to fat (erm, "offseason") and the depression you get when dieting and your strength is crap and your clothes are hanging off you. I remember a a few years back when someone I hadn't seen in a while said to me, "Damn man, you lost everything!"

That was not a good day.

The eating and training are pretty enjoyable so that hasn't been an issue really. I still haven't gotten used to the fish burps yet - and you get them sometimes no matter what you do (or buy).

:D

That or the people feeling sorry for you cause they think you're severely ill, like aids or cancer... no joke!

It really is amazing how much different you look in clothes when leaner. Even if you keep much of your mass. I get that too! "Have you been sick?"

With mine its the nutrition and the training. I always leave on Wednesday and dont get home till Sunday night. Every once in a while i may get a week off. But nevertheless i am in a car for 6 to 7 hours twice a week and in a hotel 4 days trying to find a gym close by, then when i do i have to get use to the equipment (smith machines, crossovers, etc).

Great post, glad it was bumped.

Great post, and worth reading Massive's insights as it applies to nearly everyone I see at the gyms I frequent, and of course to myself.

Just when you think you've eaten enough, if you write down everything you've eaten for a week and add it up, most times you'll see that you didn't eat SHIT. (Or maybe ate too much SHIT as is the case sometimes)

As for training intensity, I suffered pushing too hard in the past and am now more conscience of when I'm actually targeting the muscle or targeting the ego. Once you withstand pushing past the barrier of stimulation and into ego lifting, you should make some great gains along with eating more and better foods.

Consistency is my biggest problem. Life seems to get in the way...I own several businesses that keep me from home or swamped 7 days a week. Luckily I have an awesome gym at home but its still hard to get out there and get it done.

I agree. For me, the hardest thing is to make sure I get all my cals in on a daily basis. Eating clean for me isn't too difficult but it is a bit rough when I have classes I have to go to. Btw, Greg Kovacs looks horrible. Whenever he stepped on stage, his muscles looked very flat and his abs are bizarre.

Im right there with you...getting the cals in is just too tough sometimes, the right cals anyways.
