Who here stretches daily?

Everybody knows that that stretching is an important part of your routine, but I know a lot of trainers (myself included) that don't stretch nearly as much as they should. A week ago I began a full body routine that I've been trying to perform twice per day. I already feel less "tight", even while just walking around and performing trivial daily tasks. Who has a stretching routine that they incorporate into their daily regimen? Do you feel that it has noticeably improved your physique, performance in the gym, or resistance to injury?

yes, yes, and yes. IMO stretching should be just as important part of your routine as any other part. stretching definitely helps prevent injury by warming up the muscles. when the muscles are warm and loose you will perform at a higher level and by performing at a higher level obviously it will have an impact on your physique. one common mistake with stretching is that people do it right at the beginning of the workout. in order to stretch properly you must first get your blood flowing. all it takes is 5-10 minutes on a bike or elyptical.

I do power yoga, it's intense. The most difficult moves. You're burning calories and gaining a little muscle while doing it too. I know a lot of guys avoid yoga but I swear by it, and this kind of yoga ain't for pussies. You're a wet noodle by the time you're done. And MAN it makes you flexible!

i only stretch post workout.

I feel much better movement wise and less pain and tightness when I stretch daily.

Yes

I have certain stretches that I do for each bodypart in between sets. I also do Dante's extreme stretching at the completion of each body part. I am starting to dabble in Yoga and I am going to try to work my way up to 3 hours a week of Yoga.

Streching with a big yawn feels good when I get out of bed.

However, In a workout I never stretch. I do a simple warm up only to go through the motions of my upcoming worksets.

Do you peeps who compete feel that stretching helps with posing better? Id assume it would.

Most definately

I think it is essential to proper posing.

I stretch every training day post workout. If taking time off for awhile I will stretch in the morning every other day or so, flexibility is very important to me.

Posing

Proper posing is the reason I've been trying to stretch more. For instance, I feel like I should be able to flare my lats more during a lat spread. There's a tightness around my scapulae that I think is limiting me a bit. I've been stretching right before I practice posing and I think it's helping.

I been at this game for 30 years straight. I have to stretch every morning before gettint out of bed. My low back thanks me for it. I also stretch the body part I am training after.

pretty much yeah.
also bought myself a foam roller, best $30 out there (think about that...how much is a deep tissue massage?).
also on training days I do extra work pre and post WO especially for my shoulders, stuff like lightly weighted extensions, rotations, face pulls, etc.
I did very little of this till I hit 35 and now I find that years of fighting (used to box at a very high level and also did some wrestling in school), weight training, and eventually coaching have taken their toll (I can't hold pads anymore for the mommies let alone fighters I train).
Famous last words, but...I wish I had started before. Never took time to appreciate the value of it till I was forced to by pain if I don't do it.

I do a good stretch and warm up with light weights depending on the body part I'm working on for 20mins daily. Works for me! I can move better and also haven't had an injury in a long time!

i also stretch during my workouts.....

I do stretch prior to workout, mainly whatever bodypart I'm working that day. However I do the majority of my stretching post workout, everytime I train. I feel it aids in my flexibility and lack of injury over the years. Also It's easier to bend over and tie my shoes.

I always stretch before training to warm up and always stretch between sets, I think it definitely helps with the posing :)

I pretty much don't stretch at all. A little bit here and there during my workout if I feel I need it, but as for like a dedicated 20 minutes to stretching, no. Never had an injury.
