Who still does full deadlifts?

I see it is losing popularity, I rarely see anyone doing it anymore at my gym, I see more rack pulls now, etc. I usually alternate between floor deads and rack pulls.

How many of you just can't live without the good old full deadlift?

I just started them again a few weeks ago...I do them last on back day then go into hamstrings right after...

Deadlifts king of back

I love rack pulls... widen your back, but I love deadlifts I feel my back growing everytime I do this exercise.... gotta do them.... fix your posture for sure....

I forgot to mention, I have also tried deadlifts in the smith machine, I find it doesn't do a ton for lower back but I feel my lower lats and middle back big time on them. I usually only do them every 3-4 workouts when I am taking it easier and not pulling from the floor.

I always do full deadlifts. I tried rack deads a couple times, theyre alright, and you can handle slightly more weight on them, but it just doesnt feel right unless your doing the full motion IMO.

for legs i sometimes do them after lighter deep squats.

lets me overload the muscles with more weight in a fairly safe manner

alt betw trap bar, sumo and conv

to me, the deadlift is the most basic, core exercise that exists. in my opinion it even outranks a squat as far a being BASIC, definately. think of every heavy labor job, there is always something similar to a deadlft, just picking up heavy shit off the ground and moving it. i devote a whole day to just deadlifts, mainly because my back is too tired to to rows with proper form after heavy d-lifts.

Of course I do them. It's probably the most serious exercise I do. You could probably maintain at least a fairly good physique doing nothing other than deadlifts.

HELL YEAH

this s how I see it too, dead is my fav movment by far

Deads are #1 in my book. Im 1 of 2 guys on an entire military base that does them.

Deadlifts are my favorite ! I have about 4 months to go before i can start doing them again due to a bicep injury though . Man I miss em '! !

I love deads... I have done them just about every week for years. Great movement. There is something about all that dead weight sitting on the floor and just powering it up. Love 'em.

Cool video Turbomaster!

About a year ago I decided that if I really wanted to grow then I needed to work 2 exercises constantly. Squats and deads. I used to suck balls at both of them so I dropped them. Grew ok for awhile but then hit a wall. Since I brought those back in everything took off. Not just my legs and back.

my one prob is when the gym only has those hex plates. everything is good on the first rep, but if i take the barbell to the floor each rep, there is a really annoying bucking of the bar, as it tries to roll so it can rest on the flat part of the plate. it is just enough to tweak my back.

I love deadlifts...they are only second to squats on my leg workout! :D

That would be damn annoying. Ever do lower rack pulls?

Do them every monday with Squats! I like to start the week off tired!

I NEVER deadlift. Haven't done them in nearly 4 years.

More of a bad lower back exercice than anything else to me

Even though I know the vast majority of you will disagree ;)

Deadlifts are my favourite lift, you guys should try snatch grip deads from the floor or a platform, the whole idea is increased range of motion. Nothing seems to pack on the mass like deads.
