Anyone use zithromax (z-pack) for an abcess? Was it effective?

Bactrim would be a better. This combination drug has broad-spectrum activity. It is effective against Gram-positive bacteria such as streptococci and some strains of staphylococcus. If you cant get Bactrim I would use Amoxicillin since it is bactericidal and is shown to be active against most strains of Gram-positive aerobes such as: Enterococcus faecalis, beta-lactamase-negative strains of the Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae, and the alpha-hemolytic and beta-hemolytic strains of streptococcus.

bactrim > cephalexin (speaking from a few personal encounters)

I dont have one. I have a bacterial sinus infection and was prescribed a z-pack, so I was curious.

yeah, it def helps. It's still going to take a few days to get better. Try drinking some water mixed in sea salt or epsom salt through your nose. It burns, and it sucks, but it is good temporary relief and you'll feel better
