hey guys, just curious as to if these are any where nearly realted as far as antibiotics are concerned. have a bicep im a little concerned about after an inj. on monday. kinda turnin red, was only 1ml of test & eq. mixed. hit it right in the belly of the inner muscle, but was curious as if i need keflex, as i already have some zithro on hand

not really....both are broad spectrum antibiotics...either one should work fine. btw...i am a nurse/paramedic...i know a little about this. however...if its only red i would wait a little to see if you really need the antibiotics...could be just local irritation. if it turns red AND hot to the touch and more painful than usual or if you notice any significant swelling...then i would go ahead with the antibiotics. and if this is the case, you should either be leery of the stuff you are using, or be more careful with your aseptic technique. at any rate, if it is an infection, you should most definitely see a doc....just tell them you got poked by a staple/pin etc....theyve heard it all before. if its bad enough, you may need to get it drained by a doc. people HAVE lost limbs over this before, so dont wait until the last minute.

great.. thanks for the info

wow, thanks for the information. appreciate it a ton. well, i went ahead and took the antibiotics. took 100mg of zithro. it wasnt getting hot to the touch, but wanted to be safe moreso than sorry. and if it persists, i will see a doc.
