I had an eye-opening experience at the Atlantic States last weekend, in my first year of competing as a light-heavyweight. I weighed in at 190 and quickly realized that I was up against some absolute monsters. I held my own as far as conditioning goes, but my muscle mass wasn't enough, especially in my legs. I did manage to get called in the first callout, but ended up 8th out of 20 competitors. The day started well, I was sharp but a bit flat and undercarbed, problems arose in the afternoon when I started feeling pretty sick and ended up drinking too much water. I spilled over a bit by the time the evening show rolled around. I also met and spent some time talking to Promuscle member gstracer, a really nice guy who also competed in the show. All in all it was a great experience and I look forward to coming back next year closer to the top of the class.
