I agree. I HATE the word. It's not I that used it itinitally.

Two easy substitutions to vocabulary that make anyone less of an asshole:

Faggot/gay = lame.

Retard = jackwagon.

At least that's what I use. Lame instead of gay is something I wish more people would use. It's probably more accurate to what they mean anyway, without being a bigot, if that's the correct word.

Lying has been part of the game since the early days of Anabolix/Bolex, UG, Gade, EF, Varix, etc. Scammers and hustlers were still around back then but the boards felt... different. The mood these days is worse, much nastier, and the quality of most members dropped. Those that were around in 95-99 probably know what I'm talking about.

It was kinder, gentler world. It's mean world today caught up in materialism and instant gratification. A lot changed after 2001. You're right, just as many hustlers and scammers then, but people were quite a bit more relaxed about life in general. 9/11/2001 things went just really bad, really fast. Now people are argumentative, polarized with these ridiculous political parties, and propagandists on FOX, MSNBC, talk radio, you name it. So you have all the scumbags you had then PLUS people in general are short, temperamental, and argumentative.

I'm getting up in years and one of the things I notice is that when I was well into my twenties, there was a "right" and a "wrong". Today, everything is so convoluted and upside-down, everything has to have a flipside. Hell, if I say, "Beheading those Coptic Christians on the Mediterranean was wrong." There will most assuredly be one jackass that says, "Well, they only did that because those same Christians.... blah, blah, blah." (I just used Christians as an example so don't flame me for it)

It was still fucking wrong. Prosperity certainly does breed apathy. People just don't give a shit anymore and the ones that do are batshit crazy.
