No more.
Growing up and living in the wine country (Sonoma County) I was exposed
and drank more than my fair share of wine, mostly reds: Cabs, Pinots and Zins.
And my in-laws started and operated, owned a award winning boutique winery
in Healdsburg. Hell, when I first started dating my wife, she lived above the
tasting room which guaranteed us an unlimited supply of wine. Many years later
my accelerator started working better than my brakes and later realized they
were making wine faster than I could drink it, got into serious trouble with it
and quit, cold turkey.
Enough back story . . . I think a glass or two could have beneficial health benefits
but i believe the jury is still out on that one. From what I understand, alcohol
has no business being in the human body, serves no positive benefits. And I am
not just saying that because I do not drink anymore. That being said, moderation
probably has no long term adverse effects as long if you can adhere to that.
When two bottles a night become the norm, I think you have a problem. I loved
my wine, miss it actually, but I am not capable of moderation. I am a 100%er
when when it comes to drinking so no can do.
Enjoy your occasional glass or two. Lots of great wine out there. My recommendations
would take a full page so all I can say is experiment safely and you will find some
you like and then you will be buying cases of it like I did
.
