Speaking of the Motely Fool, i strongly reccommend their stock advisor service, for about a hundred bucks they send you monthly reccommendations with all their supporting data, tehy also tell you when to sell a recommendation if they feel it is warranted. Their service has beat the crap out of the S&P 500 every year since it was started which is more than 90% of fund managers can claim. I love studying investing but the truth is i can accept that my time is limited and their opinions are strongly supported by their data.

I'm still doing well investing in the stock market despite all the troubles the market is seeing. There are just a few rules I try to go by that really help me avoid big losses. Every day such as today that we see a crash, creates a great buying opportunity. I think once dow hits 12400 it will be a great time to buy, and we should see a nice rebound. The buy and hold strategy just won't work for you right now.

Up and down market doesn't matter here. If the Bears (market trends down) controls the market, consider shorting or buy options. One has to know how to play both sides of the market and know how to make money in both an up and down market.......unless you are thinking long term.

If the market will drop to 12,400, one may consider to buy PUTS for the more sensitive and volatile stocks. This is just one option.

Also, I don't look for every trade to be a grand slam home run. There are over 200 trading days in a year. If I can make $100/day, this will add $20,000 to my account by years end. Which is not a bad PT job.
