back ground: right now i am on tets e 750wk, deca 400wk, and in 3 days i will add in my winny @ 50-75mg day.

my issue is is that i want more ab definition. my diet is good, as good as i am will to get it(trying to gain as much muscle as i can). my question is what is the best time to do cardio. i have been reading up on it and this is what i gathered: inorder to burn the most fat without losing muscle is to do low intensity cardio in the moning before breakfast. can anyone verify this for me.

stats: 25 yrs old, current weight 165lbs, 5'8'', 9% body fat.

my stomach is the only place holding fat still. i dont want to diet(lower my cal) bc i am trying to put on as much muscle as i can. thanks for any help guys!
 
First, you claim 9%bf. If this were the case you should have abs.....I do not put faith in these bf% readings. Too many factors can influence the results. At 10% or lower you should have pretty much a six pack!! So if you don't, well then it's doubtful you are at 9%. Ok so your question, cardio in the am on an empty stomach works better at burning fat. It is because you have no real food stored that it workd better. Your body will require some serious energy production to fuel your cardio. It will get this from fat. Do not cut calories, how in the hell are you going to grow in a calorie deficit?? Just change them around a bit. High protein, medium to high carbs and low fat. Do not overdo the cardio, you will lose muscle if you do!

Hey Bro, Sorry , but six pack abs are a result or serious cardio, planned to perfection. Not too much ...not too little and DIET. It's a real commitment.

I can't do it cause I like to eat too much. So "Tight" is ok with me.

That's the only way unless you want liposuction. Cardio and low carbs low fat.

If you're trying to gain as much muscle as possible at 165lb and 9% BF (probably inaccurate as was said) while trying to drop BF further you're fighting a losing battle, unless you really know what you are doing AND are somewhat gifted. Worry about putting on the weight, then worry about the abs. At 9% BF you should have nothing to worry about. As said, 9% should mean abs for everyone. Maybe just up the intensity of your ab workouts and continue on your muscle building phase. IronMike
 
IMO , you gotta gain more size , first , and then you will be able to see more . you seem pretty light weighted . got pictures ? it will be easier to help you out .

If your bf is indeed 9% you should see the abs allready. Anyway you say you are going to add some winny so that will help you loosing more fat. Cardio in the morning on empty is efficient , the body will be forced to use fuel from fat. Keep going , and I m sure you going to achieve your abs dream. You can buid muscle while loosing fat so eat more proteins.
 
thanks for all the help guys. for the bodyfat i just used one of those handhelp meters. you know the one where you type in your weight and height then hold the handles and it tells you your bf. i have no doubt that it is not even 90% accurate but its what i had. also i can see my abs, its not just some flat mush. i just want real "valleys" i am sure you know what i am talking about. i know that trying to do this and trying to put on muscle is a double edged sword but i have to have goals to keep motivated. anyway thanks again for all of your help.
 
i wont address the adding size and losing fat topic as the others have covered it already...

as for losing fat and preserving the most amount of muscle... what worked for me was (keep in mind i didnt have a deadline, i took my time)... walking on a treadmill at 10-15degrees incline between 1.8 and 2.2 mph.

its very low intensity and i would walk for 1.5 to 2 hours, first thing in the AM after a shake of protein and olive oil ONLY!!!

i took ECA 3xday. that was it. i did not gain muscle while doing that, but i lost the most amount of fat i ever have and i lost the least amount of muscle during a diet.

i have done the HIIT cardio first thing in the AM on an empty stomach and in 8 weeks i was ripped, but i lost so much size i wanted to hang myself. i tend to be an ecto/meso so i lose fat/muscle easily.
