abdominal training doing precontest

I was wondering how often or emphasis do you all put on training your abs doing precontest since lowering the bodyfat with diet/cardio plays the biggest role in making the abs visible. Frequency, sets, and reps for abs?

I usually just train my abs 3 times a week. Hit them quick and hard with some resistance.
 
2 good ab sessions a week but I don't do them until around 12 weeks out. Hanging knee raises, cable crunches, ball crunches and hyper extensions. 5 sets of 20 reps for each.
 
I work them hard once a week like any other muscle.
